I missed most of the second break game... but Bouchard is dictating the play imo. Id say about half winners...half errors by Serena when she wins a point

Vasek up served for the match, broken
Vasek up 6-3 in the tiebreak, Goffin wins the next 5 points, 4 of them on Vasek's serve.
I counted 5 match points Vasek blew, brutal
Maybe he ran out of gas, he's played 12 matches in the last 16 days.

Goffin was ranked higher than Pospisil pre-Rogers Cup run. I think we all have acquired some pretty high expectations for Pospisil in this past week.
He has been going none stop for the last few weeks. Some rest will be good for him.

Might be an excuse (okay it is) but vasek is not used to playing deep into tournaments successivly. After winning the vancouver challenger then going to the semis in montreal... he could be a little tired physically or mentally

Go Bouchard! Takes the first set.
I hope she can knock off Serena, I hate her attitude. But the attitude is expected when you are always invited to the 'Cool Parties'.
She reminds me of a Jr.High Student

That's a good way of putting it. She comes across as obnoxious to me.

I couldn't believe the interview awhile back talking about her getting invited to the cool parties while sharapova not. It was like she felt being invited to cool parties was an important part of being a professional tennis player. Very childish, this is a grown ass woman. Not a teenager.

Eugenie is making me eat my words, and I'm glad she is. Would be amazing if she could pull it off.

Milos defeats Tipsarevic, gets John Isner in the 3rd round.

One thing I've noticed and I'm sure others have as well is Milos is bringing it to the net more. So far it seems to be working well for him.

IIRC, they said during the quarter final in Montreal that this is something Milos is actively working on.
Shame about Pospisil, but you learn more in defeat than you do victory. And even at only 45 points for this tournament, his last two weeks will significantly increase his odds of a relatively easy first round matchup in New York.

If you're not a seed you can draw anyone. #33 can draw #1

In less shocking French tennis news, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has pulled out of US Open due to knee problems, per L'Equipe (via @carole_bouchard).

With both Gasquet and Wawrinka losing yesterday the Milos-Isner match takes on much more importance.
If Milos wins he will move to #9 in the world and most importantly with Tsonga's withdrawl, Milos will be the EIGHTH seed at the US Open. Very important as the 8th seed doesn't meet the top 4 until the quarterfinals and doesn't meet #5 Federer at all.
If he loses he goes down to #11, will have to face one of 5-8 (Federer, Berdych, Del Potro, Gasquet) in the Round of 16.
