It doesn't matter but pinner always needs to get his words in because he holds a grudge from the time he was ridiculed about the 4 way stop sign debacle and has held a grudge ever since. He needs to grow up and let that go.
As you noticed I also said it was my personal belief and did not care if Captain Crunch or pinner felt the opposite.
Why do you continue to think I am this "pinner". I have told you once before, but let me say it again.
Feel free to PM a mod, any mod, and ask them if I am "pinner". I suspect you won't.
I asked you a simple question. Why? Why do you believe that being a doctor or in this case a dentist, puts you higher up the integrity metre?

As with any story, I'll reserve my judgement for either side until further investigation. From the surface, it does look like excessive force was used. However, we are still just hearing it from the lady's perspective. I can say though, I won't be surprised however the story turns out. I have seen police who use excessive force, and I have also seen "victims" who were in the wrong try to spin it otherwise.

Doesn't our bureaucracy put doctor's on a higher integrity meter than an average Joe? I believe they spend a good portion of the studies dealing with ethics. They do take an oath for their work. It used to be be they were an option to witness passport photos, or to witness various exams. I think engineers were also an options for exams, but at least the doctor could read the exam with you. ;-)
I am not saying the doc should get a free pass, but there is a history of taking a doctor's word with higher regard.

Pharmaceutical lackeys is all they are these days my friend!!!
Well if we're talking about our personal beliefs, I personally would put a dentist somewhere above a chiropractor and a lawyer, but below an actual medical doctor on the honesty and integrity scale. Not sure why it matters, really.
I would put lawyer somewhere below hot dog stand operator on the honesty and integrity scale.

Any professional can do those things including teachers, nurses, etc.
My wife and I both work and have worked in/with the operating rooms in various hospitals and clinics and in our experience there are good guys/gals and a-holes, just like any other profession.

That's true now, but the point of the post was that people holding professional licenses were seen as reaching a higher threshold as demonstrated by the requirement that one act as a guarantor for a passport application prior to a few years ago. Whether that makes them 'better' in any sense of the word is certainly debatable.

Theirs always more to the story, she also looks like she could have been dealt with easier then she was.
But she could have also thrown a complete and utter hissy fit tantrum the likes of which you can not fathom which required substantial force. Video is your friend in those situations.
I am convinced things like this will increase in frequency as well, not for lack of particular training by police services even, but how society is developing. People skills all around seem to be lacking as day to day interaction and conflict resolution goes to the wayside from an early age.
This might have been part of what happened...but, Police officers should be held to a higher standard. The woman might have been the mad cow from hell but the cop needs to keep his calm and deal with her with the least amount of force necessary. Cops don't get a free pass for letting their anger boil over -- we can't let them. After all, their job is to deal with annoying, obnoxious, and often dangerous people. But they have to maintain their standard of upholding the law within a reasonable standard. That's what makes the good ones so good, and the bad ones unsuitable for the uniform.
I can't comment on this specific case but I think some people are too easy to let police get away with excessive force just because they are dealing with a less than cooperative person.

It's unfortunate we never hear the police side of the story immediately, because they are being careful until an investigation takes place. The other side almost never let's things proceed, they turn to the media and the next thing you know is there's a circus.
