After 9 games it looks over... Milos doesn't look like a top 10 player today. Maybe nerves?

Ya wow, just in a different class altogether. Hopefully today gets burned into Raonic's memory bank, and gives him a better understanding of where he needs to improve.

Similar to when Milos played Murray at the U.S. Open. The top 4 are in a different stratosphere of talent. Then there is the Tsonga, Berdych, Del Potro and Ferrer level where Milos might be able to penetrate if he keeps working hard.

Most important that Milos is top 12 which means he avoids the big 4 in the Us Open 4th round.

Nadal! Not very entertaining, he's so dominant.

Looks like I picked the right match to miss forced by travel implications.

Milos was lucky to even be in the Final. He 'coasted' through with mediocre play and barely got by Pospisil. Only 22, could still be a top 5-10 player in the next 3 to 4 years as Federer and a few of the Vets drop.

At least I sold the ticket for a 1/4 of the entire week's ticket price.

"Roger...er...Rafa...can you please say some words?"

A really tremendous week for Canadian tennis. Montreal put on a fantastic show!

I think much of it had to do with how good looking the spectators were this year, am I right FFSIE?

Overall I couldn't have asked for a better tourney and for any fan who wants a ton of chances to see your idols up close for not too much money, I recommend this over even the US open. If I'm not too lazy I'll try to post some pics in the next couple days.

The intrigue for USO is as high as ever now...start placing your bets!

Definitely some high caliber talent....in the stands and on the court.

Montreal women seem to have a later expiry date than women elsewhere.

What I really enjoyed about the Rogers Cup was the overall availability of the players. Happy to take a photo or sign an autograph, up close opportunities to watch a practice.

I stayed at the Fairmont where the players were staying, really cool to share an elevator with Nishikori and Istomin, walking in the lobby past Djokovic and Ferrer, really cool experience.

I'm happy as a clam. It's going to be the first Grand Slam I've ever attended. I'm a giddy teenager right now.

I keep wanting to cheer for Raonic, but every time I watch him I come away underwhelmed. Popsisil did look to be the better player in their match, Raonic seemed lucky to come away with the win. And then to see the gap between he and Nadal was a bit shocking. Raonic has a long way to go to solidify his position that he has gained in points. Seems a lot of his ATP standing comes from having a dominant service game. There is nothing wrong with that, but to be considered a true top ten player, I think he has to make some serious strides.

Lucky you. For my money the US Open is the top grand slam in terms of the quality of tennis played and it's the best live viewing experience. The New York crowds are delightful.

So glad to hear!

After to watching it on tv for so long, I thought it was time to finally see it in person. I actually just recently signed up for an AMEX solely to get extra perks at the US Open.

I can't wait to see the draw.

I think the issue with Raonic right now is that he has a new coach with new ideas and new areas of focus. He's basically relearning, the same as a hockey team does when a new coach brings his own systems into play. Raonic was not dominant last week, but he grinded out the wins. He was definitely a deserving finalist in my view.

He said his goal for this year was to reach the top 10. Now that that is done, the next goal should be top 5, and that is going to mean getting better against the Nadals, Murrays and Djokovic's, because he's going to have to make more finals to reach that point, and that is usually going to mean downing one of those guys. He has to figure out how to be competitive against them, but that's easier said than done given nobody is competitive against them unless they are having off-days.

yup. Nadal is having a remarkable year. Other than his stupid loss at Wimbledon I think he's won 8 of the 10 tournaments he has entered? He lost to some guy in the final of his first tournament back after 7 months and lost to Djokovic in Monte Carlo of all places. He's won the French and 4 M1000s.

Try to get Murray or Federer's side of the draw, those guys sometimes lose early. Especially Murray who struggles playing anytime before 1pm.

Story of the day:

Have you heard of Mackenzie MacDonald? No? Nobody has either. He is unranked.
They gave him a wildcard to the qualifying of Cincinnati and he's qualified! An unranked player qualified for a M1000 tournament.

He beat Mahut and Johnson. Mahut I can understand, long flight from France, not quite ready but Johnson is an American challenger veteran, that was a shock.

http://www.atpworldtour.com/News/Ten...Qualifies.aspx

I did a bit more research, he's 18. Has never played a professional match, only played a handful of matches at junior level and going to UCLA in the fall. He's 2-0 lifetime in professional matches!

I just took a quick peak at the draw, if Mackenzie MacDonald wins his match and Vasek can knock off Gilles Simon of France, MM and Vasek would meet in the next round.
