I have a feeling this experience will propel Jankowski to big things next year. Even just a week of pkaying with the best players in your age group is huge for your confidence and it shows you some key areas you need to improve on.

I seem to remember a young man who was a late invite to a team Canada camp in 2001 stating how huge that experience was for him and how it led to him breaking out the following season.

Gaudreau also cited being left off USA WJC roster as a huge motivation for him that season at BC. Hopefully Janko comes away from this experience similarly motivated.

Sustained pressure by Janko - Gauthier - Poirier leads to a shot by Janko... few seconds later Gauthier scores thanks to a panicking Swede dman

So Monahan's looking like a lock at this point, isn't he?

(Then again, I thought Brossoit was too)

And my personal favourite... Poirier turning on the jets during the PK and drawing a penalty to neutralize Sweden's PP.

Spoiler!

Wow! Great heads up play to break up the pass, then get a stick on it a second time. And those wheels!

That speed sure is sexy but that defense is what will really make him a good nhl player. I really like the new emphasis the scouting staff has been putting on hockey smarts.

I know it's ways down the road and its still way up in the air if it both players reach their ceiling... But it would sure be an awesome way to build a team around two very big, very skilled centermen in jankowski and Monahan. If they both turned into legit #1 & 1A centermen, this team would look very good in 5 years with jankowski, Monahan, baertschi, gaudreau, poirier, Brodie, sieloff, Wotherspoon, ramage, and gillies as the core. It's a big if though
