Usually go home, work out by myself go for a walk/run, have my dinner and just relax. Going out during the week is tough.

Work out 3 or 4 days per week, visit family 2 days per week, play on a rec hockey team once a week, go out for beers (non-weekend night) once a week and try to fit in some photography whenever I can. With that said, I still get bored some nights, but not all that much honestly. I think once the NHL season starts up again, there will be much more interesting stuff to watch on TV.

I try and do 1-2 social events each week (in addition to the gym / dinner), whether that is a pubs night with the boys, a movie with friends, or going to a fundraiser or special event with randoms I know from industry.
Additionally for those nights at home, I like to try my hand at improving my skills at something I wouldn't normally do. Anywhere from learning guitar to learning general handyman and automotive work.
I think the key is to push yourself to try something new regularly.
Frack, if I was totally single (my girlfriend lives in another city so I have a single mans schedule alot of the time), I would be picking up and starting "fresh" in a new place once every few years. Try out the scene in multiple places across Canada or abroad! You'll never know what you find.

Most single people I know cry themselves to sleep... and that is all they do.
Most married people do the same.

If there was a poll, I know what I would vote for as my most common activity as a single guy was.
I guess the only difference now is that I can't really do it in the living room.

One - three nights per week should involve courting women. This really isn't to be challenged.
The other nights, outside of going to the gym and your rec team - try learning one new skill every month (or whatever timeframe you set). For example, teach yourself Spanish. Or, teach yourself how to invest by reading some books and try your hand at day trading.
You could also take courses at night if your company has a tuition program. Always use other people's benefits and money to do things that benefit you.

Consider volunteering for something.
With the municipal elections coming up you can find a candidate that you support and volunteer to help with the campaign. I am helping with campaign in Grande Prairie and the time commitment is really whatever you want but we usually meet at a pub to discuss the campaign. Campaigns can use any and every skill as well so there is definitely something for you to offer.
Disclaimer, I am not single but do like to stay busy.

Ah, the single days and soon I'll be married....le sigh....
I used to play rec soccer and men's league and I volunteered as a soccer coach for 5 years, but primarily I liked to hit the pub with my buddies and watch hockey.

Work and workout is how I use to spend my days.
Now I'm married and have retired to a government job. I watch way more TV than I did in my single days.

1) workout
2) learn to play an instrument
3) video games
4) date women. I'm not single these days, but know plenty of guys who clean up on PoF and other online sources.
5) feel greatful that you didn't spend half of your free time bickering with a women about issues you care absolutely nothing about.

Yeah, here is what I used to do when I wasn't married:
1.) Play sports. Played twice a week with CSSC
2.) Watched a movie with friends/family once a week
3.) Had dinner/lunch with another family member like an aunt or grandparent
4.) Took my dog to the park every day
5.) Tried to take up hobbies, like painting but that never happened
The main difference between what I do married as compared to what I did single: I have a partner for everything now. Don't blame your boredom on being single, because if you do find someone you'll still get bored and it won't be fair to blame them for it.

Doesn't the downtown Safeway have a singles night every month or something?

What do you guys do to keep busy during the week around town? Do any of you use Meet Up to get involved in new things?

Since you have your hands on the Fisher Account, I think that you should have reservations at Dorsia every night. Great sea urchin ceviche.
