No chance. It would take at least their next decade of first round picks.

Seriously? What exactly do they need to confirm it? Are we supposed to believe that a judge can't look at the video, look at Rob Ford, and determine if the person in the video is Rob Ford?

It could be one of the many Rob Ford lookalikes. Let's face it - large, balding, red-faced and angry-looking old white guys aren't exactly thin on the ground.

Could be Mike Gillis for all we know.

Well the thing to do is to have the court look at the video and go from there. I have a hard time taking the cops word for it as well, since they are beholden to the mayor. If the video is the real deal, he gets his plea deal.
I have a hard time with people who would be just glad to bury it on the flimsiest of excuses, like attacking the messenger.

Why would he let them look at it first without a signed agreement.
As for the rest, where was I attacking the messenger. Oh yeah because I'm spectacle about the word of a criminal.
where do you get that the cops are beholden to Ford from btw, considering that they raided the house that the video was supposedly at and let the press know that they were doing it.

From the story the police seem to agree that the video exists. It's just a matter of if the quality is good enough to prove it is Ford in the video. If Siad has the video, I don't see any reason for him not to provide it under an agreement that if it shows Ford smoking crack, he'll get his deal. At least that is how it goes on TV shows. The accused has to back up his story or the deal falls through. What I can see is that the Crown and the police aren't that interested in what Ford did.
Yeah sure, the mayor doesn't have any influence with his police department? Even if it is shown to be Ford in the video, I don't see there being any criminal charges being brought against him, so the police would be happy to sweep it under the rug.
Don't forget it isn't only the criminal's word that says the video exists and even the prosecution says it exists so attacking him, isn't germane. Lets just see the video.

Why would the police want the video?
I am going off TV shows and following trials in the news but it seems they could do little to nothing with the video and it certainly doesn't seem like the type of info/evidence that the police would find interesting enough to deal with a criminal like this.
Perhaps if TMZ were holding Siad I could see a deal being struck but perhaps my TV/News knowledge of a video of someone smoking crack is way off.

It's been long speculated that Rob Ford and Toronto's chief of police, Bill Blair, do not get along. I have little doubt that Blair would be very eager to embarrass Ford should the video be legit.

Why wouldn't they get along? Ford does so much to advance the war on drugs mandate I'm sure the chief has been given.

Whether they get along or not, giving a druggie a free pass for the chance to embarrass the mayor, wouldn't be smart or even probably legal.

Dunno if this was discussed months earlier when it happened, but it seems to be fresh on the news cycle today so I'll leave it here.
Rob Ford requested to speak to an inmate after hours in late March.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/...ticle13707729/
'That request was also declined and the mayor departed – leaving an unsolved mystery within the correctional service about why the mayor visited at such an odd hour, why he was indirect about the purpose of his visit and why he needed to speak with Mr. Bellissimo, a 43-year-old who has had run-ins with police and has what numerous sources describe as a history of drug-related activity.'

This story keeps going on and on. Why? Because Rob Ford is such an idiot that he cannot keep a low profile if his life depended on it. Lost in the recent developments is also how another staff member was "fired".
What's shocking is that Rob Ford still enjoys quite a bit of support in Toronto. Maybe because he is "sticking it" to the media elites?
