Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 48s
It’s official: A-Rod gets 214 games for violations of CBA and JDA. Through end of 2014.

He's appealing, so chances are its goodbye A-Rod until early 2015.

Yup, I know he's appealing and he's in the lineup tonight. but I can't see the appeal being over turned.

This is a career killing suspension.

Also goodbye hall of fame.

Tigers come back from 2-0 in the 9th and hand Cleveland a demoralizing loss 4-2.

The appeal will get A-Rod a few games in this year. He will get the rest of this season and next year. I don't think MLB needs 211 games. They want the rest of this season and next be it 195 games or 211.

MLB is a joke.

The fact that Bonds (and soon A-Rod) are not first ballot hall of famers only demonstrates the pathetic management of the league. Neither have even failed a drug test.

Neither did Lance Armstrong. Cheaters never prosper.

I assume you mean that you can't see the action being overturned. To that I would say "Really?".

I think there is a good chance that he wins in front of an arbitrator... I wouldn't bet the farm on it but it would surprise me not at all. Frankly, I don't think they ought to suspend folk without a positive test. Absent the test it's just one guys word vs. another guys word... that's a pretty low burdon of proof.

And honestly I think this is all one big scam so that the Yankee's can get out from under his contract scott-free. Even if you accept the Biogenisis evidence as sufficant to warrent suspension the scale of the punishment doesn't match prior presidence. I can't see it as anything but Bud Selig trying to slip some extra dineros into the Steinbrenner's pockets.

You are aware that every player could have chosen to appeal right? The fact that the players didn't proves that they are guilty of what they are charged with

Of course... I don't see how that changes anything. I'm not saying that I think they're innocent, I just think that a suspension for PED's absent a positive test for PED's is bad. I don't think any of these specific guys are innocent I just think they're (MLB) establishing an overly low threshold to establish guilt.

What makes it bad? I would rather a sport without users so if there is enough evidence that someone may be using PEDs that the users don't even want to defend themselves then they are guilty and should be suspended. I could see if there wasn't an appeal process and they just issued flat suspensions but every player accused has the right to appeal.

An innocent player would fight for their name to be cleared. A guilty player accepts the punishment no questions asked.

Sask native Andrew Albers pitched an 8 inning shutout for the Twins in his major league debut tonight. Incredibly proud of him.

Just saw Zaun fuming over Puig getting upset with Gonzalez's baserunning and not allowing Puig to get his triple.

I have never really seen that happen before (besides Lawrie getting upset with Lind) but what Puig did was pretty remarkable during a game.

That seems like a lot for a guy who is up there in age and has health concerns.
