they are currently rebuilding it and until 2004 it was not only the oldest bar in Calgary. It was the oldest Blues Bar in Canada.
Does it make you feel large to say at present. You saw I said was, WAS the oldest bar but I guess that is just your style huh.

Well it doesn't really count if the place is closed. It seems pretty reasonable to not include a closed establishment.

It's not like it closed for a few months, it's been 10 years.

Chicken on the Way opened in 1958, but the basement dates back to prehistoric times.

Shamrock is still currently closed after the fire they had in the hotel, isn't it?

The Den at the U of C was opened in 1969. Gone through at least one transformation, but still in the same spot it opened.

Matador Pizza's got to be pretty old. 30 years maybe? For a restaurant that's a long time.

The Westward Inn in Calgary at 12th Ave. W and Centre St. It had one of the largest beer parlours in the City. These beer parlours were huge and the waitresses could make $100 an night in tips which was good in the day. Of course they had to wear an onion on their belt. Now I think it's called the Hotel Arts and it still has a bar. Good times, all the beer parlours had free entertainment, bands or strippers and cheap beer. Is the Stampeder still open? It's at McLeod and 39th. The T&C should be still going as well. Bowness Hotel still there. It's pretty old.

The Cecil, while also closed, was opened in 1912.

I vaguely remember having a juice box at the Livingston Homestead (one of the first settlements in Calgary area).
