Bernardo applies for medium security
With the closing of Kingston Pen, Mr Bernardo thinks he has suffered enough and has asked to be transferred to a Medium Security facility. Lets file this under no chance in hell.

KINGSTON - Schoolgirl killer Paul Bernardo feels he has suffered enough in maximum security and has applied to be transferred to the medium-security comforts of condo-style prison housing.

Oh really? And who exactly told Mr. Bernardo that the determination of his suffering was his decision to make?
I have an idea, why doesnt the person in charge of this decision ask those girls' parents if they think Bernardo has suffered enough. If they agree then we'll see, otherwise find a more miserable place to stick him.

They should let UCB reply to his application. It seems appropriate.

Well the good news is if he released into this medium security building, he sure as hell wouldn't last long in gen-pop. He'll be dead in no time and I guess that's a benefit. I can't see anyone being dumb enough to approve Canada's most notorious rapist/serial killer to be moved to lower security. Then again, this is the Canadian Justice system...
Glad to hear he's been suffering in max security. Hopefully he ends up at the super-max he doesn't want to go to.

While we're all being delusional, I feel I've suffered enough and that the government should give me a billion dollars. And a pony.

Wouldn't medium security make him more exposed for other inmates to attack him though? Solitary confinement over the past 18 years has probably saved his life.

I say let him out...and put him into a pillory, wheel it into a Scarborough park and let the chips fall where they may.

That made me chuckle. I concur. And we can strap webcams to the Bears' heads so we can all watch.

Gotta agree putting him in genpop would make him a big time target. No doubt lots of prisoners would want the reputation points that comes from shanking such a notorious killer.

Lets be honest though, this is nothing more then a request from a narcissistic psychopath who has been out of the public lime light for too long. He knows its going to be denied, but this allows him to inflict more pain to the families very similar to Olson.
There is no question that this will be denied, not only for his protection, but because the publicity of Bernardo living in a prison condo community would murder this government, and shake Canada's belief int he prison system, something that's been shaken alot over the last decade.
He will be moved to one of the hellholes in Quebec where he will continue to serve his term with 23 hour a day lockdown.
I feel bad for the families, he knew this would get out into the papers as soon as he requested the forms. Unfortunately he has a right to request it and request a hearing to ascertain whether this would happen.
He's sitting in his cell right now smiling to himself over stirring things up.
And yes Homolka cut a a great deal for herself due to her scummy lawyer being willing to hide evidence and a prosecutor and police who missed a lot in the investigation.
Its a miracle that she was able to get parole and to drop out of sight like she did.
