Default The Shield

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if anyone else is a fan of this show.

I had seen this show a couple times previously, but never in any order. About 3 weeks ago I desided to watch it from episode 1 through season 5 finally that just aired last week.

I have never been so enthrawed with a TV show, other than watching the Flames and watching the new episodes of Lost and Sopranos, all I have watched is the Shield. And watching the season 5 finally last night, I cant believe how attached I was to the story.

Just wondering, what others thought of the show and the season finally. I just cant belive I have to wait a year now to see the next season.

All I can say if you haven't seen this show check it out. Bar none, the best TV Series going.

Great Show, one of the best on T.V. blows away the Sopranos last few seasons.

I started watching last season when Glen Close was the captain, really got into the show.

This season was also very good, Forest Whitaker has got to be the most annoying character on T.V.

I just bought the first season DVD from F.S. last month, on sale.

Vic is a unique character in the world of T.V.

A work schedule a few years ago interrupted my following of the show and I get very upset if I miss some of a show and then try to catch up without seeing the missing episodes. I won't do it. So at some point I'm going to be buying the DVD sets and catching up like you did. However......

I watched the season finale last week. I watched the beginning and couldn't change the channel! What a finish.

I think the characters are so well developed on that show. I love it.

I've been watching from the beginning, my wife gave up after season 2, she was hooked but it was just a bit too intense (and on to late for her).

Greatest show on TV! This last season was awesome, quite the season finale last week, great twist. I can't wait for next season!

I saw an interview with Glenn Close, she has not ruled out coming back in the future. She loved doing the show but her daughter is going to school out east and she was moving and didn't want to commute coast to coast.

Cant believe I never saw this posted originally, Shield is my second fav show next to Sopranos, watch it religiously, the finale in season 5 was amazing, did not see the grenade drop coming at the end and Forest Whitaker is probably my most hated character EVER. When Vic was looking at Lem, and Kavanaugh goes, "Are you happy now, detective Mackey?".....I shouted out loud, "VIC, KICK HIS ****ING ASS!!!!"

Awesome show, too bad, it has to end next season.

I was reading a interview with the creator of the show Shawn Ryan, and he said it is not ending after this season (being that we're only half way through season five), and that he hasn't decided when it will end and that we will see a 6th season. So The Shield will live on, for at least 20 episodes more.

Just thought I bump this thread to let all the fans of the show know that in addition to the 8 episodes that we're getting in the new year, FX just green lit 13 more to air in 2008, and Shawn Ryan is sure this will be the end of the series. Here's the link http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...7&cs=1&s=h&p=0

That's cool. Excellent show. And I agree with them, this is not the type of show you want running indefinitely.

AWESOME NEWS.....THAT JUST MADE MY DAY, I loved how the last season end, cant believe Shane did that, but I am really pumped for this. Only wish that next season was more than 8 episodes, but oh well, I'll take 13 more in 2008!!!

Love the Shield

I didn't read any of this thread, considering I haven't seen season 5 yet. I just bought the DVDs. Whoever it is that bought the previous 4 seasons off of me, if you want season 5 in about a month or so, let me know, lol.

But does anyone know what channel season 6 is airing on here in Canada?

All I know, for me, in Vancouver, Channel CH shows the first run episodes of the Shield starting April 8. FX is showing them in the States on April 3. I know my buddy up in Prince George who loves the show as much as I do doesn't get that channel, so he can't watch them up there and is stuck with bit torrents. Can't wait to see what happens, the ending of season 5 was unreal, I have never been so upset after a finale as I was with that one. Not with the show, but for the one bloody character, I couldnt believe he did that, I'm not gonna say who did what, dont wanna spoil anything, but good god, I hope he gets whats coming to him.

Bought season 5 on Tuesday on DVD, re-watching all of them, I saw them last year on TV, but I am getting just as pumped for this upcoming season as I am for my other favorite shows that premiere on April 8, Sopranos and Entourage. Sopranos at 8, Entourage at 9, Shield at 10, could Sunday nights get any better?? If the Flames play a playoff game on a Sunday night, I am royalled screwed.

I can't watch the webisodes, it kinda cheapens the full show that I am going to watch for me. I watched like the first few minutes of it a couple days ago and I liked what I saw, but I just can't do it like that. I rather wait and have the full experience.

Well, these guys seem to think that CH is showing Season 6 in the summer, putting me in a foul mood, but I don't know if this is true or not. So, I still have faith that I will be able to watch em.

The Promosode bridges the gap between seasons. It is not going to be broadcast on TV.

Titled "The Shield 5.5" It is a promosode to promote the upcomming 6th
season launch available exclusivly online, through video on demand. It
will not be televised on FX. It will be available online at AOL,
Heavy.com, Yahoo, MSN, tv.com, IGN MAXIM.com and Stuff.com. It will
also be available for free via Video-on-Demand to Cablevision and
comcast subscribers.

Yeah it's a cool show. It's weird how I really don't like Vic or Shane, who are supposed to be the heroes of the show, but it still has me hooked. Almost like I'm watching just to see them go down heh.
