No doubt American culture and Chinese culture are very different, but you don't understand Canadian culture very well yet, or you wouldn't be writing the way you do. China is a tough place to live for most Chinese, and not very good in my opinion, but you're not going to find any sympathy writing about it the way you do. That is not a grammar problem. It is a problem of not showing people respect in the way you present ideas. As a Canadian who has lived in China for 7 years or so I still have a hard time getting many Canadians to understand what China is like because differences are so many and so deep, but nobody wants to even listen if I just tell them what to think. You need to be more polite and open-minded.

Better grammar wouldn't hurt either though.

I'd say the 3k is pretty close. I worked at Red Lobster (of all places) in the late 90's through university. Probably 22 days worked per month on average, combination of evening shifts and the occasional split, sometimes a double. I would say that my average tips over that time would have been $65-75 per day. $70 * 22= $1540 plus server minimum wage. I would assume with restaurant bills being higher now and with a higher minimum wage, $3000 would be fairly commonplace for a FT server.

Lol Bertuzzied already defended himself. It's not him.

Or at least, I hope it's not. Because I met him once and he seemed decidedly normal and not like a crazy Internet troll.

That's not precisely true. It really depends on the restaurant you're at. Male waiters mostly have to stick to fine dining type of establishments.

I know male servers that make over $3K CDN per month quite easily. One of my buddy's served at Sky360 and made $200-$400 in tips pretty much every day. You can definitely make well over $50k as a server if you find the right gig. The key is to work regularly at a place that is consistently busy.

I'm disappointed that I never got mean PMs from Beerfest. I mean, I was just as mean as the rest of them, I was just more clever about it.

Ah well, the sacrifices I make due to extreme intelligence. "Le sigh."

Someone should check the IP address on a recent Bertuzzied post. That would settle it (if qiang's new sig hasn't done that).
