fiance and I have a queen sized bed, and I don't sleep much at all.

She is usually in bed and fast asleep when I get home from work (12:30am-ish), I find if I climb in bed with her it wakes her up and she has trouble getting back to sleep.

So I will sleep on the couch more than I should and then when she gets up at 5am for work I crawl into bed. Usually on my right side facing the doorway with music playing, almost always Anthony Hamilton as I find his music most relaxing.

Are there really a lot of people out there who sleep in the same position consistently? I have nights I sleep on my back, side, stomach, face, all of the above.
I usually get a solid 6 hours sleep. Used to have a boxer in bed with whom I'd snore in perfect harmony. Now he's no longer with us so I am stuck with just the wife

I used to sleep with Queen bed, alone, bare, with 1 quilt my grandma made (2 or 3 in the winter) fan on and the window open.

Now I sleep in King bed, with fiance, bare, we each have our own twin duvets - I normally start with just a sheet and migrate to the duvet in the middle of the night if its cold.

I always start on my back, if I am dead tired I migrate to my side but mostly its on back.

I sleep fairly normally on my side and no real quirks. Ideally it should be cold outside the blanket/sheet. Only thing is both my wife and I must shower before entering the bed.

Quick questions: HOw the heck do you guys let your dogs sleep on your beds? I can't even fathom the idea of going to bed without showering.

Don't you have fur all over you?

For summer I uphold a pretty strict no touching rule. I don't need to shed anymore heat than my own. The only chance you have of getting me to sleep anywhere near you is to freeze me out.

Are separate beds the key to a good night's sleep?
How well do you sleep? Would moving to two beds – or even separate bedrooms – be the answer for couples in search of a good night's rest?
http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandst...key-good-sleep
There is a lot of evidence that sleeping apart is gathering popularity – at least in America, who the British tend to follow closely in terms of social trends. There, the National Association of Home Builders says it's expects 60% of new homes to have dual master bedrooms by 2015. If this is anything like a guide to how many couples are sleeping together, then a trend is gathering momentum.
One 2005 American survey found that nearly one in four couples sleep in separate beds – mainly for the obvious reason that it gives them a better night's sleep. You might think that trading intimacy for 40 winks is a devil's bargain, suitable only for those whose marriages are heading for the rocks, but it's not necessarily that simple. Getting enough sleep is important for general health.
A survey of 70,000 women aged over 16, published in 2005, showed that women who slept five or fewer hours a night were a third more likely to put on at least 33lb than sound sleepers. That's a big difference. So it appears that sleeping together – as it tends to result in disturbed sleep – makes you fat. The scientific explanation for this is that after just a few days of sleep restriction, the hormones that control appetite cause people to be hungrier. So women who sleep less might eat more.

King Size, boxer-briefs, with wife, get-your-cold-a$$-feet-off-me, generally sleep on stomach with one leg bent, arm under pillow supporting head,, or flat on back. Generally there will be a cat roaming around the bed all night till I throw her out of the bed. (The cat, not the wife). Usually 6-7 hours of pretty decent sleep. Late to bed fairly early riser. I can't sleep in past 9 even on weekends, usually up by eight at the latest.

Sleeping on my side, always facing outwards with a hard pillow and a couple extra if I want to sit up. Occasionally 2 blankets if it's a little chilly but generally one does the trick.

A waterbottle beside the bed just before I sleep and to clear myself in the morning.
No snoring, generally not much rolling.

And nowadays since my dog has gotten used to sleeping with somebody under the blanket, just using him as a stuffy almost though I'm sure he's none too fond of it sometimes. For reference he is a miniature pinscher mix, so pretty small guy.
Unfortunately he sheds quite a bit but I've gotten used to it/given up by now.

Plus it's like having a little heater except for those really warm nights.

Edit: Plus as an added benefit he does wake up regularly at 7-8am wanting breakfast. Great alarm clock minus the days where he decides waking me up at 6 is a good idea. No snooze button fortunately/unfortunately.

the wife and i share a queen size bed. i like it cold at night, so i prefer to have the ceiling fan on, plus i have a small floor fan on my side of the bed (i like the white noise).

i like to use a body pillow as i find it helps my back. i also snore and have the restless leg thing going on. it used to take me a while to fall asleep; however, lately i have been going to bed a little later, and that seems to help me overall.

My wife, gets in bed and falls asleep most nights within 10 minutes and does not move much.

She also complains of having a headache most nights

Me I sleep buck naked, on my back with an unlit cigarette clenched angrily between my lips and a lighter nearby for that first hard pull of smoke in the morning. My sheets are kicked off on the floor from the angry thrashing when I do sleep.

I have a half drained bottle of whiskey on the night stand.

I usually sleep on my back with my forearm over my eyes. I have a have a habit of taken buck naked walks in the moon light.

When I wake up I usually light that smoke up and enjoy the morning hacking session before I start another day of contemplating suicide.

Queen size bed with my wife. Boxer Briefs, No snuggling, I like it cold outside the blanket. In the summer, we usually have separate thin blankets. Winter time, we usually share the thicker duvet. I sleep either on my side, or on my stomach with a leg bent. Sometimes, when I can't seem to get comfortable, I lie on my back to rest for a few minutes, but I rarely sleep that way.

I always sleep in boxers with lots of sheets in a cold room with a fan or a loud air conditioner on.

If I'm alone, I'm either on my side with a pillow between my legs or on my back.

If I'm sharing a bed or even a room with someone, I try to sleep on my stomach because I know I snore loudly sometimes when I'm on my side or my back. I never snuggle against anyone else, but I don't mind if a girl wants to snuggle against me as long as the room is cool.

Also, I never really though about this before, but I always sleep closer to the window when I'm sharing the bed with a girl. I wonder if that's a natural instinct to protect the woman from intruders or if I just subconsciously know better than to get between a woman and the bathroom. Do any men here sleep closer to the bathroom/further from the window?
