I just picked up a new 2014 Mazda CX-5 GT. Really happy with it.

I bought a 2013 Dodge Journey SXT and am a big fan so far. If cost is a concern, you may want to at least test drive one. So far gas mileage is not as good as I thought, but the AC has been on quite a bit with the dual zone climate control so that is most likely the culprit.

My girlfriend bought one of these about a month ago as well. I have driven it quite a bit and really like it. Lots of room and features!

Just bought a Mazda CX-5, and absolutely love it. For the value, I think it's one of the best values for what you get. Looks like a BMW inside, but you get for a significant lower price. Drive is the best out of all the CUV's I test drove, which was all of them in that class.

Yeah that's what I'd REALLY like to get, but it's too much.

I think the CTS wagon is a pretty good alternative though.

Yeah, I think it was like $80K. In three or four years I'll check 'em out on the used market.

CTS wagon is very nice.

And much cheaper too, esp if you go into the US, NA cars depreciate so fast.

We have a Tiguan, its an excellent vehicle (I even use it to pull our tent trailer). Though I am hoping to replace it someday with a MB GLK 250

While not an SUV, I was wondering if anyone had thoughts/experience with the Ford Edge.

Footprint and fuel economy of an SUV, interior space of mid-sized car, driving dynamics of a small truck, expensive. Not a huge fan.

That said, these catch my eye even though I don't generally like crossovers: http://www.lincolncanada.com/crossovers/mkt/. I haven't read anything about them, but it's probably a rebadged Edge.

love that new E-Class Wagon, My wife had an 08 that we loved. Right now I am driving A4 wagon that I really like. 2.0T good power gets decent mileage. Wife is driving a Sienna which has been great as well.

Any thoughts on new model 2014 Jeep Cherokee due out this fall?

I can see it being I love/hate design - I actually like it.

The new RAV4 is on my list as well.

But does anyone have experiences with these:

Mitsu RVR
Hyundai Tuscon
Subaru Crosstrek?

Consider a wagon. Driving dynamics of a car and space of, well, a wagon. Win/win.

I drove the Mitsubishi Outlander a few days ago, and it was pretty terrible. Drives like a truck, and feels extremely cheap. Everything flexes in this car, from the interior to the suspension. Felt like a Walmart special. I'd stay away from Mitsubishi altogether.

Do you want a reliable car?

I'm pretty sure that Jeeps aren't known for being particularly reliable.

Am I the only one that likes the jeep designs from the mid-90's as opposed to the ones nowadays? Seem to be moving towards more mainstream SUV designs whereas when I see a jeep from back in the day I know right away it's actually a jeep.

Anyways, for the OP, I drive a 2005 Toyota Highlander. Never used for towing or intense off road type stuff but I've driven it in city and on highways in rain, snow and ice and never had an issue. Lots of space to haul stuff (used for multiple moves, gravel and taking stuff to the junk yard, etc) as well. Not a single unexpected maintenance issue yet either.

Not the most up to date vehicle but if the newer ones are anything like the one I drive then I would recommend it.

You may be right but the thing is, have you ever owned one or are you just taking your opinion from Consumers Reports or from your neighbor down the road?

I've owned a few Chrysler products and I've never had any particular problems. Myself, I'm going to wait until they come on the market and we get some good reviews and I can do some research.

I have a 2010 Escape Hybrid and am very happy with it. It hauled up the Coquihalla so the power is ample for me. I love the Sync system and other features that come with the Limited Edition. It gets about 600km per tank but it can be a little tricky to drive it efficiently to keep it in hybrid mode.
