Cars Parked Along Dirt Road by Hwy 22 and Hwy 1

I was out to Banff this weekend. On both the way out and the way back, there was a large number of vehicles parked alone the dirt road that runs east from the Petro Can at Hwy #22 and Hwy #1.

I see them there all the time.

Does anyone know the reason?

Pick up location for shuttles and car pools to the mountains

Lots of cyclists meet there too. Just a good location to meet if you're heading to the mountains. Easy to find.

Combination of hikers/bikers/skiers from south meeting up with hikers/bikers/skiers from north to car pool. Road bikers looping to Cochrane or Bragg Creek hwy 22/66 etc and people meeting to be picked up for work in the area. Another similar area but on a smaller scale just west of Calgary on 22X that they eventually put in a formal parking lot for. The mountains shall bring peace to the people.

I have had a seriously craptastic day and this made me laugh so hard, because I totally walked right into that. Thanks for the moment of hilarity in an otherwise awful day (and no, I won't go into detail so everyone keep their tighty whities from bunching, LOL).
