Reto Berra is by far my favorite player to watch this fall. I am very Keen on seeing how he does. I have this feeling he is going to steal the starters job next season.

Hahaha I went through the exact same thing with that tweet. I was wondering why Iggy was meeting our prospects.

If I was GM I would handle the current prospects as follows (assuming players develop as we hope/expect) :
2013-14:

- Forward: Knight, Horak , Baertschi, Bouma
- Defense: Breen, Cundari
- Goaltending: Berra
AHL:
- Forward: Reinhart, Hanowski, Ferland, Granlund
- Defense: Wotherspoon, Ramage, Culkin
- Goaltending: Ortio, Brossoit
2014-15:
NHL (rookie season):
- Forwards: Monahan, Gaudreau, Reinhart, Agostino
- Defense: Wotherspoon
AHL:
- Forwards: Klimchuk*, Piorier*, Hanowski, Ferland, Arnold
- Defense: Sieloff, Ramage, Culkin, Kulak
- Goalies: Gillies, Brossoit
*if they are eligible
Europe: Ortio (permanently), Granlund
2015-16:
NHL (rookie season):
- Forwards: Piorier, Klimchuk, Granlund
- Defense: Ramage, Sieloff
- Goaltending: Gillies
AHL:
- Forwards: Jankowski, Ferland, Arnold, Gordon
- Defense: Culkin, Kulak, Roy, Kanzig
- Goaltending: Brossoit
2016-17:

I'm curious to read what others who saw Hanowski at camp and last season project his ceiling to be.

David Moss would be my best guess.

That would be a fantastic turnout for Hanowski. If he was a healthier version of David Moss I would be ecstatic.

The best you can hope for: 3rd/4th liner
Most likely end up as: Career AHLer with a few injury call-ups
I would be surprised if he ever plays more than 60 games in one NHL season.
Agostino and Klimchuk are the assets with potential in the Iginla trade.

What set both Moss and in my opinion Hanowski apart from other guys with a similar skillset (3rd/4th liner) is that they both know where they have to go in the offensive zone in order to score or to set up plays and both don't mind paying the price in front of the net.
With all prospects, nothing is guaranteed, but of the 8-10 or so 3rd/4th line guys that we have in the prospect chart, I think Hanowski will beat out the enough of the others to get a regular job, if not this season next mainly due to his size + instincts.

It's hard to gauge Hanowski. He's played a handful of pro games ever. His skating isn't amazing, but he moves decently well. He's got good size and uses it. He's just got to put it all together.
Rookie camp will say a lot about where he is.

I find it hilarious that Canucks fans on HF are trying to pump up Horvat's tires to make him seem better than Monahan. Bringing up the 6th overall pick success rate compared to 9th, His success in the playoffs on a stracked team, ect. Just a whole bunch of lol.

I would agree, with Hanowski coming out of college at 22 he should have been more of a force at camp amongst less experinced players but seemed a step behind the play when I watched him. We do need players for the Heat.

Don't know if I agree with the bolded.
Horak is 22 with 81 games of NHL experience and he wasn't a force at camp.
Reinhart who is 21 and has a full season of pro experience wasn't a force at camp.
Even Knight who was one of the bright spots of camp wasn't a force, more of a steady showing except for on his faceoff dominance.

Agreed honestly Horvat is easily a tier below Monahan and his big playoffs are the reason he was a top 10 pick instead of 15-20. Maybe had Monahab made the playoffs and ha success there this past season he would have been clearly ahead of Lindholm or even pushed his way into the top 4 discussion? Prior to this season I had not heard of Drouin and knew the big name players were MacKinnon, Jones, Lindholm and Monahan.
Seems like some nuck fans are trying to say Horvat is just as good or better than Monahan and the flames will regret Poirer over Shinkaurak (like we were the only team that passed on him)

From what I saw Horak and Knight both looked strong at camp and especially with Horak he controlled the puck as he should against younger players. My point is if Hanowski can't stand out against younger less experienced players how is he going to stack up versus NHL regulars.
