So happy that we have Monahan.
I personally think he is NHL ready.

It needs a bit of work, but it would be awesome if we could get something like this going in the 'Dome!

He can still be returned to junior even though he's signed. Even if you think that's what should be done, this is no big deal.

The nice thing is that the expectations for this season are incredibly low. There's literally no pressure on these kids right now. They can basically spend a year learning the game. If Monahan isn't ready after a 10 game tryout they can truck him back to juniors.
This is going to be a weird season for me, There's no pressure to do anything but sit back and watch how individual players develop.
I mean you never know, the team could surprise, I doubt they're anywhere near the playoff hunt this year. I expect there are going to be some ugly blowouts.
But I think that this rebuild isn't going to be quite as slow as some think.
I tend to believe the scouts when they say Monahan is one of the NHL ready prospects. I always worry about the physical aspects of the game, its the reason why a guy like Backlund struggled for his first couple of years here.

I'm optimistic that this is going to happen as well. Unless we are severely overrating our prospects, I can see an improvement on last year. I also think people underestimate how toxic the environment was the last few years with the core we had.
The team may go on a roll here and there, and (standings wise) best case end up somewhere in the hunt at the deadline.
Worst case we finish last, which isn't really all that bad.
I just want to see continual improvement through the year.

I will be jubilant if we successfully "rebuild", and make the playoffs again before the Oilers do. Cheating ###########.

Basically the same money that #23 pick from 2009 signed for (Erixon) as well as the #6 pick that year Ekman-Larrson..
Last year's #6 Hampus Lindolm signed for 1.744 with Anahiem.
Erixon did really well maximizing his $ for his skill level and draft position.
The #5 pick in 2009 Brayden Schenn 3.11 M
