Wow 66.

Yup this is the main difference between Phil and Tiger. Everyone knew that Westwood would meltdown. He always melts down. Phil did nothing special on the front 9, just two birdies on the two par 5.. he was patient. Westwood will come back.

Tiger was so aggressive on the front nine, he's trying to catch Westwood within 6 holes. Why? Be patient. Westwood will come back and once he does, then pounce. Phil did exactly that.

Westwood needs a miracle, certainly needs to eagle 17.

At some point you have to make a move though. The difference was Phil made all the key shots. Tiger didn't. Knock the strategy all you like....you can't win if you don't make the shots. Phil made pretty much every key shot on the back 9. It was a great performance, and he deserved the win.

Tiger didn't come close to executing.

Phil waited for the Westwood to come back to within reach and then he turned the aggressive up to 10. Saw his chance and took it.

Yeah I'm a bit skeptical.

Quite surprised, but pleasantly so. Would have liked to see Westwood take it though.

Lee Westwood just can't close the deal. Just needed to hit fairways and couldn't do it. Eight top-3s in majors in the last 5 years, nearly 50% of the time he's right there and just can't win em. Probably his best look today too.

Yeah, im a bit surprised myself that during the final round of the British Open, TSN got the highest advertising dollars from the No No and Baconwave.

Attaboy Hefty. I'm glad he won. If it couldn't have been Westwood than I'm glad Phil stepped up and took it.

Woods is +23 in rounds 3 & 4 over last 6 majors (-11 rounds 1 & 2). He's no longer the dominating/intimidating presence he was in the past and its why he hasn't won a major in 5 years.

I always look forward to the annual meltdown in rounds 3 and 4 in majors. Who doesn't?

I've always loved woods and maybe I just overlooked his whiny bitch attitude because he was so dominant but he acts like a petulant child out there and it's effing embarassing. Who the hell slams and throws clubs, screams and swears when they make a mistake, especially at his age. What a clown.

Decent field for the Canadian Open this year, the turnout is slowly improving year-over-year but being the week after the British is still a killer. The Royal Bank sponsorship has been great for this tourney as they seem to be getting all of the Team RBC guys out.

Good to see Weir move into contention with a 67 today.

The yahoo golf leaderboard is saying Webb Simpson shot a 59 at Bridgestone, when he actually shot a 64. What a bunch of dolts. Don't know why I was checking there anyway.

Hmmm. Luke Donald is in third at -28, while the real surprise is Martin Kaymer, who currently sits in 67th at -46. Sounds like my Tiger Woods PGATour scores

Tiger had a really good look at a 59 and he still does. Was -9 through 13 but made back to back pars. Needs two more birds coming in to do it.

Also cancel that tournament and just give Tiger the title forever. Sort of owns that course.
