This show has reached the point of Prison Break and... and... I can't recall. But there's a few shows, like Heroes, that's one. There's probably more though, shows I've watched and enjoyed for a few episodes and suddenly find myself after committing to two seasons stuck watching for the sold purpose to see how it ends.
I dunno, I still enjoy it. Sure it's not as good anymore, but I can't say I don't look forward to the new episode each week. I'll miss it when it's gone, but I think it is time the show ended. 9 seasons is a pretty good run.

It is a TV show. If you don't like it don't watch it. If you don't watch it, the existance of the show should have no bearing on your life.
I used to watch it on a more regular basis, and I agree it has gotten old, but I will most likely watch it, just to see it out.
I'm aware it's a television show, and being it's status as a television show, I'm pretty sure I'm OK to experience it however I'd like.
I've watched every single episode, never missed one. It has a solid 4-5 season run, has been questionable since, and this season has had some of both the best AND worst episodes of the series.
I'm so so so glad it's over. It's been a good show at times, but it expired at least two seasons ago.

I haven't watched any episodes of the last season and I was huge into it for the first few, but like most in here, it tailed off for me and just got to the point of mostly unfunny. It's sad really, the first 4-5 seasons have some of the best comedy writing in a long time. Ted was at his best when he was first single following the relationship with Robin, and mostly annoying outside of that. Lily went from the cool girlfriend/fiance that would catch you off guard with an innappropriate comment said in an innocent way. Barney, marshall and Robin definitely provided the most laughs.
High point: Teen wolf playing against Marshall's kindergarten basketball team. I was literally on the floor of my room all alone laughing my arse off.
Low point: Riding off into the sunset with an almost married Victoria. A)Victoria is a bitch B) Ted is a whiny arsehole. I'm supposed to feel good about these two reconnecting? Nah.
Favorite episode: A lot of good ones. I may have to go with the one with the cockamouse
Favorite running gag: Slap bet. Specifically when Marshall slaps Barney mid-terrible play. So good.
It will be sad to see it go, but it has run it's course. I started watching for the comedy, but I stayed for the complex storytelling as well as the long running gags and in-jokes you just dont find on most shows.

Also, Cobie is a complete smoke show
Spoiler!

That's the leading theory, that the mother is dead. I think it could be true. One of the last episodes when Ted was with the mother having dinner and she said something like, "what kind of mother misses their kid's wedding?" and Ted choked up. Why would he choke up over that?
I am looking forward to seeing how it plays out. I've invested too much time in it to not see it through now. Hopefully, it's good.
