I love me some crazy CFL rules

Wonder how long KG is out... BLM looks like he has all the tools but you can tell he still needs a bit more experience out there...

To be fair, I'm sure that kick would have gone through had that Als player been blocked... not his fault -- El Matador can't block AND kick can he?!?

On TSN's boxscore Rene is noted as 4 for 4?

I am confused but pleased with the victory!

Dave Randorf says on twitter that the CFL has confirmed the streak is intact. I'd post the tweet but my tablet won't let me. So there you go.

29*

Where does it say that?

All I can find is this blurb...

Quote:
With just over a minute remaining in the game, Paredes was given a chance to tie McCallum's record, but saw his attempt blocked by Montreal's John Bowman
Doesnt say the streak is over....just that he didnt tie it with that kick..

For the record if it was my decision...that would never be anything but a missed FG....or more aptly a blocked FG but certainly would count as a miss. I mean they go by attempts...and i would consider a block an attempt everyday.

But again...whacky crazy CFL rules.

I refreshed the page and that last part got edited out.

While I personally think it is a miss, it's a fun story. Good for Parades, as it obviously wasn't his fault and it's created discussion across the country.

I hope he makes #30 next week.

If you ignore the fact that the kicker never has possession of the ball it somewhat makes sense with LaPolice's explanation. If the ball crosses the line of scrimmage yards have to be given by the kicking team. Since it doesn't cross the LOS yards don't have to be given therefore it's not really a kick...

On TSN site re: Stamps winning against the Als.

Paredes finished with four field goals to close to within one of tying B.C. Lions' Paul McCallum for the CFL record of 30 consecutive regular season field goals. His tying attempt from 35 yards with 1:04 to go was blocked by John Bowman. It doesn't count as a missed field goal, but is considered a fumble.

Only in the CFL can a guy that doesnt touch the ball with his hands at any point on a play....be able to fumble the ball.

Awesome.

Wow what a game! That play by Bennett was all world! awesome hussle to knock it out!

But isn't that a safety? he was the last to touch the ball and the ball went from the 5 yard line to the end zone.

Glad i missed that first quarter though.

His streak was 37 counting the playoffs. Why aren't playoff games included? Those are bigger games.

Because it's a regular season record. Playoff records are counted seperatly.
Just like the NHL, NFL etc...

I know that, by why is it done that way? Playoff games mean more.
