He's. it a difference maker never has been and never will be is overrated in every sense of the word. I would rather have Eric staal has the 1st line left wing over him. Of Nash is such a great all around player he can be a checker on the 4th line.
You must drink or have some other cause of short-term memory issues...Nash was dominant below the goal line in 2010...he and Staal were the top 2 forecheckers for Canada.

I would have Staal on 1st line LW over Nash as well, though.

I believe he only won that trophy because it was a shortened season. All he did was put up the points. He's not very good defensively, yet and not to mention he likes to take bone headed penalties.

To put it in perspective, Letang had the same amount of points in 7 less games, his +/- was higher and he only took 8 PIMs compared to Subbans 57

I should of had him on the team before Girardi but I forgot about him completely

Quite easily I would assume. Isn't he already like 10th or something for all time scoring swiss players?

I agree, I think he's going to be top 5 points/goals by the time the Olympics come around.

He was flying out there in 2010! He might not have put up huge points, but played a fast, physical game and created a lot of turnovers.

Wait... did you forget the green text?

The Canadians should fear the Swiss, they seem to always play us tough in these tournaments. One of these days they are going to win one of these, probably not the Olympics, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them medal, or win a Worlds.

Swiss aren't in our division.

They could us a later round obviously; they'd be a scary opponent in an elimination game.

Who is Rick Nash keeping off the team that is otherwise better?
based on the TSN story

Taylor Hall from the team
Jamie Benn from dressing

Crosby
Stamkos
Giroux
Toews
Bergeron
Tavares
Getzlaf
Perry
St.Louis
E. Stall
Hall
Richards
Benn

that's 13 guys who I think have a good chance at making the team that are better than him, others who probably don't make the team but are all ready better

Couture
Eberle
Neal
Sharp
Carter

could see guys like Kane, Duschene etc. who are trending up as well

Well they grabbed a silver at the last World's. I still think they are quite a ways off from being one of the big boy teams but they are definitely making up ground.

He is a second tier player, still a good player but no superstar. I rather take one of the elite centers instead and use them on the wing.

After seeing Centres play the wing in previous olympics, and Iginla play LW in the playoffs, I strongly believe you want to keep players in their natural position for as much of the roster as possible. As such, I see the roster as follows:

Hall Crosby Giroux
Tavares Getzlaf Perry
Toews Stamkos St Louis
Ladd Bergeron Iginla
Staal

Dion or Jaybo -Webber
Keith-Letang
Staal-Doughty
Subban

My D core:

Doughty - Weber
Keith - Seabrook
Subban - Pietrangelo
Staal/Letang

I promise you Eric Staal slots into the Top 12 unless he's injured...he could have a horrible start to the season and still make the team.

Time to change up on this team. Nash should not even be considered in my books, he is always given prime ice and doesn't do anything with it. Time to add some players like Couture and Hall to the mix. And forget having Marc Staal on any lists, he's not even the best defenceman on his own team.

So I guess we leave off Brent Seabrook too??

I'm not sure Couture is the best C on his team... Oh, it's a close one...best be safe and leave him at home too.
