Main camp is going to be awesome. Lots of applicants, only two or three slots available.
Guaranteed Wideman, Brodie and Gio get one locked up. O'Brien will have one, 6/7 on the depth chart at the very least.
Going to be an epic battle between Cundari, Breen, Butler (idk why), Russell, Wotherspoon, Ramage and Seiloff. The last three are long shots but management seemed pretty high on those three to push for a roster spot.

One thing Cundari really needs to work on is his acceleration. He's young, but certainly a couple times at the end of the season, guys were able to simply skate around him down the wing. He couldn't transition fast enough.
It would be nice if he turned into a solid #4/5 defenceman one day.

I would be pleased to see him replace Butler in our top 6. Great 'jam'. That first goal of his was saaaah-WEEEEEEEET! He's really not that small either, as he's build like a brick $h!thouse.
He strikes me as the kind of character that will only be satisfied if he makes the big team. He could be undeniable in training camp. At the very least he'll bring out the best in all the newbies & rookies trying to get a bottom-pairing spot.

I disagree. I think Agostino is the safest bet to be a full time NHLer, until Cundari has a full-time gig for a couple season there will always be questions about his size and defensive abilities. He needs to establish himself before those questions will dissipate.
Agostino on the other hand has NHL size, NHL speed and appears to have all the intangibles. Quite honestly I would be surprised if Agostino sees a game in the AHL.

I'd be utterly shocked if Hanowski became a full time NHLer. He doesn't look like he has the tools to be honest.

Good deal. I'm really hoping he makes the starting 6. He's better than Butler and Smith. Not sure about Russell.

You won't get through an entire camp without some injuries either. One or two spots up front and probably a guy on D too.
Hopefully Conroy's word was true and the tie goes to the prospect, regardless of contract status.

My bet is they trade Smith out of training camp for a 3rd rounder because of his friendly cap hit, and his 2-3 years of experience. One or both of Russel and Butler will both get traded at the deadline IMO for 2nd or 3rd rounders.
Cundari probably makes the team out of camp, but not Breen. And after the deadline, 1 or 2 defensemen get called up from the minors, perhaps on a rotational basis.

Will be interesting what they do with Smith. I really liked parts of his game - his ability to skate out of trouble with the puck was very good. Great first pass as well. Defensively, he is 'decent' if you shelter him.
He is going to have to really impress to make the roster. I don't see too many teams trading for him - SLIGHT chance he gets picked up on waivers being sent down (though unlikely), but I see him as starting in the AHL.
I think Cundari makes the team based on his grittiness and offensive ability - but would have to be paired with either O'Brien or Breen to cover a bit for him. It is a very good signing - guys on HF boards from St. Louis are still saying he was a very good prospect in their organization, and were sad to see him go.

Boy, is it ever going to be a dog fight for the last couple spots on the Flames D this season.
Barring something really crazy happening, I see the following 5 guys making it without question:
1. Giordano
2. Wideman
3. Brodie (Yet to be signed)
4. O'Brien
5. Butler (Much to the chagrin of many CP posters)
Then a nutso battle between journeymen/rookies:
6. Russell
7. Smith
8. Cundari
9. Breen
10. Billins
11. Wotherspoon
12. Ramage
13. Sieloff
14. Culkin

Besides his first goal, my favourite Cundari moment was when he cleared three guys out of the crease for Kipper. Three guys!

Cundari is full of confidence despite his lack of experience. He is going to be a beast in the pre season and will earn a full-time spot no problem.

I don't disagree; that being said, if Agostino and Klimchuk make it as regulars, which isn't an unreasonable prediction based on prospect camp, we get 2 NHL players for Iggy. Which isn't terribad.
