Didn't Feaster or Conroy say they wanted to sign (I think it was Kulak) to play in Abbotsford?
not Kulak, but Culkin. Culkin turns 20 before December 31, making him AHL eligible. Kulak is a 94 birthyear, he can't play in the AHL until his team's season is over.

Thanks. I knew it was one of them that was an overager and eligible to play in the AHL.
This is win win, if he is ready for the NHL, great, full time bring him up. If not, send him back down he gets a cup of coffee or at least some mentorship at training camp. He goes back to Windsor, they either make it far in the playoffs and he gets that experience or they are eliminated and he comes to play for the Heat.
Either way this is great step forward for Sieloff and pretty much signifies he should be ready for full time duty next year at the latest.

This.
Plus he's going to be on the WJHC squad for USA, should be getting a lot of ice time too.
Not a surprise but it's nice to see it done. He has probably less than 1% of making the team this season, even for a game, unless the Flames have a lot of injuries. Just too many defensemen to battle with. He'll be a leader on the USA World Junior team.
Sounds like the Flames think he might be able to make the team in camp? Didn't they say they were considering waiting to sign him toward the end of next season? Seems he impressed in camp and forced the team to make a contract offer early.
"It's like we told (Patrick) Sieloff - we don't have a lot of players in the organization that play the way you play and we're going to give you an opportunity in camp. We're going to give you pre-season games and see if you can knock the door down" - Feaster

7 current one-way contracts, wonder who's spot he will take? (if no injury)
Not to mention Chris Breen too

Can't remember who, think it was Craig Conroy that thinks Sieloff could crack the NHL next year, thinks he is the one young guy that can make the team.
I know Roger Millions was saying just a couple of days ago that he thought Sieloff was going to get a long look at camp this year and that they preferred route for him was to start him off as the 7th d-man.
