Anyone get the slingshot DLC for XCOM? What's it like? Is it worth the $1.74 for it?

I just dropped $40.00 some odd dollars.
I don't really play a lot of games, and don't mind playing older games as they are typically cheaper.
I am surprised that I am trying FPS type games which are normally outside my comfort zone! Bought the following: FarCry, FarCry 2, Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY, Borderlands GOTY, Torchlight II (really enjoyed the first), Adventures of Van Helsing, and the GTA Complete Pack.
I can't believe I've never played GTA games at all.
Almost bought Infestation which looks cool and I think might be a steal at $3.74! Just kidding.

Just curious, but what is the benefit from 2 accounts?
So far, I have purchased 23 games during this sale, but my library was small to begin with. Still waiting for fricken Shadowrun to be released as well.
Is there a time frame in which you can purchase a game and when you install it?

No you can install them whenever as many times as you like.
A second account filled up with multiplayer games I like from Steam sales would be a really good idea for LANs when you have 1 or 2 guys over that don't own that particular game.

And it is minor. The changes were a small mission add-on and a named character. It was considered a very poor DLC for a game that had potential for some amazing stuff.
Back in January or so, they promised another DLC sometime this summer that had a lot more content and really made the game more epic with a lot more going on. Since that announcement however, there hasn't been a peep and we're close to the end of July.

Yeah.
It's a bit crap. K, it's a lot crap. I played it on a friends computer and never wasted the money on my own. Not even worth $2 on sale.

Currently I get 3 benefits out of it.
1. LAN parties. I think I started the 2nd account so my wife could play a little TF2 with the rest of us at a LAN party I hosted. I have a lot of non PC-gamers that stop by, so its not like they come with a fully decked out Steam account.
2. I totally use it to take advantage of Steam Sales/mini games, like the coal or potato ones, although one could certainly argue that people like me are why we don't get free games anymore. I don't go overboard to the point I feel bad or consider it an exploit though. Its my wife's account!
3. Recently I've given my sister the password, which allows us to play the occasional game online. She'd never buy Civ5 for herself, but she'll play it. Plus Civ5 will come in handy at LANs for people that don't have it.
It all works together pretty well. When I got CS:Source as a free game during the coal promotion, I gifted it to my 2nd account for obvious LAN party use. During the current playing card sale it is less useful because the 2nd account is only level 4 and you have to be level 5 to get game cards from voting. I might have to gift it enough playing cards to make a badge and hit level 5...

I find the lack of deep sales for Star Wars games disturbing. I want Lego Star Wars.

Boo I was really hoping Prison Architect would be at least under 15 bucks, looks like I'll have to wait.

How is that game even remotely $20 on sale? Looks like a 5 or 10 dollar indie game.

Prison architect isn't finished apparently, its close but I would hold off on that one. The discount isn't that great anyway.

Anyone trading the Summer Sale cards?
I have a couple of extra ones and am missing two or three to complete the set.
