2014 NHL Draft
Somewhat premature I know but with the possibilities of the Flames getting a lottery pick next year more then certain who are some of the potential prospects we could see to build around? I haven't heard of many names from the 14 draft that seem familiar to me and I believe Conner McDavid is not eligible to be drafted until the following year in the 2015 draft. It seems the flames now have some centre depth up the middle but are a little weak on RW. Perhaps they would be targeting a RW or a defenceman with that pick. Would appreciate some thoughts on who you think they should target!

I don't really know any of the players, but apparently the Flames are picking first overall next year and are selecting Nylander's kid. Nice.

I'm leaning toward Nylander if he's closer to 6' come draft day. I like the storyline there.
Look at those golden locks.
If not, I also like Ekblad a lot. He's was a man amongst boys as a 16 year old this season.

I know Ekblad is all exceptional status and all ... but I'm a little leery of D-men in junior who have such a size advantage. He does seem pretty awesome though. I'm still for collecting Reinharts.

After this draft I am dead tired. Just going to wait until the standings are finalized for next season before I start my 2014 draft geek out. I will say that Ekblad looks like the real deal so far though.

That highlight package they have is unbelievable of nylander. I keep watching that first goal over and over again.
