Whatever he gets will proably be worth it which isn't the norm these days. He's a good young player that has yet to hit his prime.

Doing some quick math, that's almost like...6 million a year, right?

Very surprised its not 8. Purely because every contract seems to be max now.

Doosher had a good season last season. Let's see him replicate that now. Overpayment right now, but could be a steal down the road.

He was not yet RFA, so he's under contract for 6 more years, correct?

Three of them are 22/23 and younger, and their coach was horrible.

That's a group of centres they can build around for a decade.

Kind of makes up for the O'Reilly over payment a little.

They'll still find a way to suck enough to screw us out of Reinhardt and McKinnon.

Stastny is also going to walk this off-season. Stastny is burried behind that depth and the've been using him in a defensive role. Not a chance he stays. Oh yeah....and we kind of screwed them with that ROR contract. With this Duchene contract, they'll now have 3 centres making 6 mil or more.

Bad asset management IMO. They should have traded one of Duschene or Stastny 1-2 years ago for an area they were weaker in. Now they are going to lose Stastny for less than market value. He'll probably get a late first and a prospect at the deadline, but they could have traded him for a top pairing winger or young top 4 defenceman.

No goalie either. The Avs have center depth but that's it, at this point Duchene might be their best option for a goalie too!

I think you see Varlamov come into his own next season, he's a great young goalie IMO. Give them a top 4 Dman or 2 and they'd definitely be a playoff team.
