So, did you break out the lube for this whack or was it more of a "spit in your hand and go to town" sort of deal.
I know everyone gives sliver a hard time about his dog thing. But I am the same when I hear about attacks. It is laughably predictable now. There is no way to defend the propagation of the breed. Just let the existing ones die off, and call it a day. They serve ZERO purpose that any other breed can't fulfill. This is like continuing to allow the sale of car so defective, it's malfunctions by indescriminatly mowing down pedestrians with its own free will.

I dislike Pitbulls because the dogs serve no purpose but to intimidate people. Unfortunately a breed ban will be pointless, the white trash will simply move on to buying another type of fighting or security dog. It's all about image and banning one breed won't deter them.
Some woman on the radio today that championed the breed ban in Ontario just trashed pitbulls and their owners. How pitbull owners are poor trailer trash losers that say "sue me" when their dog attacks, yet none of them have a dime to their name so "sue them for what?" their 77 Winnebago? I can't say I disagreed with her. Virtually every single pitbull owner I have seen pretty much fits that description.
They just need to ban the frikkin breed already. Yes, yes.... All dogs are capable of attacking for all the pitbull apologists that will jump in with that nugget of a stat. But over 90% of dog attack fatalities are at the jaws of these monsters and their crosses. When my 10 pound wiener dog chases the cable guy out the from door it is hilarious in retrospect. When it is an animal with one of the strongest bites per square inch in the animal kingdom, it is terrifying.
This is one of the most ignorant things I have ever read. The woman is an idiot. Grant it there are bad owners who should not be allowed to own any breed of dog but don't lump everyone into one big stereotype. That's like saying all black people eat watermelon and fried chicken.
malinois - force bite 195 pounds
Dutch Shepherd - force bite 224 pounds American Pitbull - force bite 235 pounds
German Shepherd - force bite 238 pounds
American Bull dog - force bite 305 pounds
African Wild dog - force bite 317 pounds
Rottweiler - force bite 328 pounds
Wolf - force bite 406 pounds
Mastiffs - force bite 556 pounds
Kangal (Turkish dog) force bite 743 pounds
Hyena - force bite 1000 pounds

In retrospect you still have a ####ty dog.

I guess this is a good of a place as any to ask this... I bought some anti-dog-attack pepper spray from an outdoor store the other day. I keep it by my front door in case I ever have to rescue a passerby from my neighbour's aggressive dogs; however, I have read online that pepper spray can just agitate a dog further. Anybody know if I'd be better off not using the spray in an attack situation?

Do you have a cape too?

Oh, I don't disagree, she is overly aggressive with strangers in the house, and nothing I can do can stop it. I basically have to lock her in a bedroom when any sort of stranger is over. But the difference in if she attacked someone is a nasty ankle scrape, not someone's eyeballs hanging by the optic nerve, and their esophogus hanging out of their neck.

Big difference.
How people can't grasp this basic and obvious difference is confounding. My biggest concern if your dog was attacking me would be your reaction if I kicked it away. With a pit bull I'd be fearing for my life.
You're better off not using spray in an attack situation.

lol my favourite part about your response is the fact that you omitted your trademark "cowperson" signature. I imagine you had to wrestle with your options a bit before committing fully to your joke and clicking on the submit button.
That said, I don't think it was a helpful response. I'm not concerned about a dog's opinion on the matter if a person was being attacked in front of me. People are more important than dogs.
Sliver, you're such a spaz when it comes to dogs a person like you shouldn't come racing into any situation involving an aggressive dog with a weapon like pepper spray. You'll end up spraying the entire neighborhood. My guess is when all is said and done you'll somehow end up on the ground, crying from the spray and a Pitbull will only see that as a little extra seasoning as it's moving towards you ready to eat you for lunch.

Hah, you're probably right. I just couldn't sit back and watch somebody getting attacked and before I bought the pepper spray I didn't really have any means of intervening. I definitely wouldn't jump in there unless it was a last resort.

Yeah but that's bordering on hand-to-hand combat. I have one of those extendible batons that peace officers or whatever have at the ready, but I figured with pepper spray I wouldn't have to get quite so close. Plus I think I'd feel too bad about hitting an animal full on with a bat. I'd much rather douse it in pepper spray and let it run back to its owner to deal with.

My understanding is that bear spray can't be carried in cities and all of the small cans are illegal in Canada. So I would be careful going all superhero using a restricted weapon.
