This trial is going to be a gong show.

The only fortunate thing is that the death penalty won't be on the table. However a 6x3 cell which has a small hinged slot on the door and a window the size of a paper back awaits.
Actually the death penalty is on the table here because he was charged federally, and the charge (I believe the using the WMD) is a charge that can be punished with the death penalty.

Not surprised he plead not guilty. Many extremists tried by the U.S. plead not guilty, and then spout of verses from their respective religious dogma.

Make no mistake - he knows he's guilty and will use this media frenzy as a microphone for his grievances, and will delay and push the whole thing for as much time as he can get.

Thanks for the correction, I had read that he was being dealt with on a State level and Mass is a non death penalty state.

Look at the nut cases in B.C. showing up for their first court date dirtying the Koran.

Yeah... he was so proud to show the world that he did it (he even etched it into the boat he was hiding under), and now he's scared to tell the world in a courtroom?

What an insult to the slain victims.

Or like the guy in Norway who said it was self-defense.

Why would he care about that. And the courts really can't take that into account.

I guess when you're a totally irrelevant and pointless publication, you might as well do what you can to get some pub, but they outta know better than to glorify this guy. I see this badly, badly backfiring on them.

Im not sure i understand the outrage here....bad people have been put on the cover of magazines...welll....forever.

Though i will say this particular picture is far to "flattering" to the scumbag.

Yup and RS is pretty irrelevant. It's not like it's People or US Weekly. RS has covered politics and hard news ever since the magazine was founded. They employed Hunter Thompson, ferchristsakes. It would be one thing if RS doctored the photo or something like that, but they're just using the exact same photo that countless news outlets have already used.

Rolling Stone

Our hearts go out to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, and our thoughts are always with them and their families. The cover story we are publishing this week falls within the traditions of journalism and Rolling Stone’s long-standing commitment to serious and thoughtful coverage of the most important political and cultural issues of our day. The fact that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is young, and in the same age group as many of our readers, makes it all the more important for us to examine the complexities of this issue and gain a more complete understanding of how a tragedy like this happens. –THE EDITORS

CVS and Walgreens have both said they will not be selling the issue.

Apparently they were trying to make this connection . . . . .

When Mrs. Cowperson first saw Tsarneav, even knowing he was a murderer in advance, her first blunt reaction was: "That's too bad . . . . . he's so good-looking."

Bad boy on the cover.

Cowperson

The fact that they made him look as glamorous and rockstarry as they could is kind of gross. Whenever we have these type of things happening we always have arguments on the board about bringing these scum into pop culture Icon Status. This is what Rolling Stones tried to do whether they admit it or not.

They could have gone with other covers, they didn't even need him on the cover, yet they did it to obviously pump up sales.

The sad thing is that the people who are on the cover of Stones magazine become pop icons or cool people at least for a while. This is worse then that.

You should have seen all the fan-girls at his arraignment. They'd sleep with him in a heartbeat.

They didn't make him look glamourous, he just looks that way.
NY Times used the same picture.

Spoiler!

If he did what it is alleged he did, he is a POS and should be treated as such.
