I liked them both. Arkham Asylum had the great atmosphere and story where Batman must infiltrate areas of the Asylum one by one, foiling the various villains along the way, all in one crazy night. You could sort of roam to different areas, but often the game pushed you towards the action.

Arkham City is very open. Instead of feeling like a single night of chaos, it is more like a few weeks of non-stop night, where you have a lot more freedom on what to do next. Side quests, story missions, or just goofing around beating up thugs around the city. Up to you. Grand Theft Batman.

So some felt that Asylum was maybe a bit tighter, and a better experience for it. But I can say that I had a great time taking City at my own pace, and wasn't too concerned about getting caught up in the plot.

Also, definitely play these with a controller.

Damn Steam Sale!!!! I bought "You Need a Budget" the other day for $35 and it's on sale for $15. I didn't even think an application, especially that one, would go on sale. Lesson learned (again).

I have to highly recommend the indie game called "7 Grand Steps" that was a finalist in this year's E3 ShowCase. It's a "strategy board game", where you try and guide your family's lineage throughout the centuries through social advancement and discoveries. The video looks weak and some reviews called it boring but at a discounted price I decided to buy it since I love strategy games that span centuries. I find that I can't put it down. I never thought a "computer board game" would be this much fun.

Is there still some way of earning free games in this sale?

I actually had it from before, but thought I would throw it in the steam sale area.

I guess I'll get Civ 5. $30 for the Gold Edition.not much of a gamer, but I do like civ. Had some epic games on Civ 4. One on marathon mode lasted 6 months. My Sundays might be booked for the next few weeks.

"You Need a Budget" <- something every gamer should be told during Steam sales

A bit disappointed that Gunpoint lost out to Torchlight II in the community vote, I would've thought everyone had Torchlight II already :P

Hopefully Gunpoint rolls around on a flash sale or daily deal, game looks fun but I'm being cheap.

It's pretty fun especially with 3 other people.

A lot of games will show up multiple times and the last day or 2 are usually a last chance recap of the sale's best sellers.

Instead of getting Sins of Solar Empire: Trinity get Sins of Solar Empire: Rebellion. It comes with everything from Trinity plus, obviously, the new stuff. There is no way to "upgrade" from Trinity other than buy Rebellion so you might as well save yourself some money in the long term and just buy the latest game. And yes, I expect it to be a daily or flash.

Edit. I should also add that I absolutely love this game. Well worth whatever the sales price ends up being. The new Titan class ships are amazing. I often just send mine into a Pirate world to quickly level it up. The DLC is on my must buy watch.

I think I'm more or less done.

Bought:
Bioshock Infinite
Borderlands 2 +Season Pass, Mechromancer DLC
Football Manager 2013
Dragon Ages: Origins Ultimate Edition
Skyrim

Was gifted:
Civ 5
Magicka

Still waiting for the Civ V Gold to go back on sale hopefully but for the most part I'm holding back considering how much I have already. So much for grabbing Shogun 2.
