I am surprised he didn't just take a 3 wood after he saw the first 2. Hit it left short of the water.

Zach is out... or could still get a five, which might be enough to stay in.

Spieth is a good story too, just glad Johnson isn't going to win.

Long putters don't seem reliable

Kinda looked like it was meant to be. Other two have chances to win it and miss. Then the teenager makes the best of what were three bad drives. Almost handed to him in a way. Hearn's putter sure let him down. Hearn is more of a journeyman / It is more interesting to see the kid win. Could be the next big star.

Heartbreaking for Hearn. I can't believe how much of the hole that putt hit on 17 and didn't go down.

Who you got for the Open this weekend? Just something to keep in mind, 14 of the 17 last major winners have been 1st timers.

I'm going with Jason Day. He seems long over due for one. He has teed it up 10 (11 if you include his WD after one round at 2012 Masters) times in the majors and hit the top five in four of those. He has five top 10s. He was third at the Masters and T2 at the U.S. Open this year so he's someone who appears to be in form that thrives under pressure packed moments. Also, has two other runner up finishes on his major resume.

Someone offered me a $10 bet where I got the field and he gets Tiger/Rory.

I took it.

If the weather is nice I kinda like Phil, and Nick Faldo kinda intrugues me in that he's won there twice, but I'll go with Graeme McDowell.

Every indication is that there is going to be a huge difference in the scores between the morning and afternoon groups- I really hate that.

Mickelson just said in a post round interview that it isn't fair for the late groups- course gets way too firm in the afternoon

But it gets reversed tomorrow...so as long as the weather follows somewhat the same pattern (never a given in this tourney) it should balance out somewhat.

Ian poulter's tweet after his round- a lot of players complaining how difficult a few pins are:

Quote:
Unfortunately the guys this afternoon will struggle with a few pin positions. 8th hole is a joke, 18th needs a windmill & clown face.
