I want to see him perform on a non-Sven line but this is a good sign.

I think he's an asset to the management team.

I had very low expectations for Conroy in management since he always seemed too upbeat about everything. Glad to see I was wrong

Klimchuck has a NHL shot that was a very nice goal.
Monahan is a smart player that comes back and does it the right way.
Is grandlund a center? We might have a pretty deep center pool of prospects actually.

Thought Arnold had a nice showing after the 1st. Granlund looks solid too, and pleased with his willingness to go into traffic and get dirty.
Next scrimmage should be entertaining again as these guys will have a bit more time playing together.
I can't wait for the young stars tournament!

I've never been a huge Granlund fan and still am iffy on his NHL chances but he has a wicked shot and seems to be a good smart player.

I wonder if that is by design. Put Monohan and Gaudreau against your top D as a test for both.

Just got a chance to watch the third period. Must say I was impressed by Kanzig. Definitely seemed more offensive and a better skater than I think any of us were expecting. Jumped in to the play a few times and uses his body pretty well to protect the puck. He could be a really important player on the backend going forward if he pans out. Markus Granlund was impressive as well. I have to say that along with Wotherspoon and Horak (who wasn't as noticeable as I'd hoped), the Tim Erixon trade is continuing to look better and better.
Also have to say that I was impressed with the faceoff ability of Sean Monahan and Corban Knight. Not sure I saw either of them lose a faceoff in the period. Black was clearly carrying the play but the faceoffs were a bright spot for the red team.
Was disappointed in what I saw from Jankowski. Seemed somewhat lazy away from the play. That being said, he looks quite a bit more filled out than he was last year. Didn't notice Poirier out there as much as I'd hoped either.

I think Jankowski was fantastic positionally, at both ends of the rink. In the offensive zone he found open areas and make quick moves. In his own end and in the neutral zone he was constantly checking to see where other players where, always aware of his surroundings.
Each time I see him, I find something new to like about him.

Klimchuk had a good shift in the third with some strong board work in the offensive zone. think it was against Kanzig.
Granlund and Sven looked awesome together.
Team red though just could not really get anything going in the third.
Berra looked good but I think that Penner goal was a tad weak on his part. Good work on that line for crashing the net though.

Hehe we did talk a bit, we weren't actually side by side, he was one row in front and I was busy trying to wrangle my kids.
Shook hands afterwards and told him he needs to join us and start playing some nhl online!

Granlund has an NHL shot
The Flames' C depth may be weak. but the C depth in the prospect pool is really impressive.
Wotherspoon was really poised. Sieloff is fun to watch. Kanzig was a very pleasant surprise. Never once noticed Kulak.
Ortio looked good

I find it awesome that despite all the great center prospects that came out who were the obvious highlights of the camp, Granlund has come out and looked as good as any of them (at least offensively). Slowly coming from the decisively worst group of centers (we didn't even have 4 nhlers at one point) to one of the brightest and deepest pools in the league.

Really liked Arnold. Granlund was real good. Hell of a shot on his goal and he seems to have that hockey IQ the flames staff love. After an invisible first period Baertschi was the best player on the ice. Just took control in the 2nd and 3rd with his line. Jankowski seemed to start off pretty slow, but I thought he looked great in the third. Found the open areas in the offensive zone and was solid in his own end. Kanzig is huge and definitely got a raw skillset. If he puts in the work he could be a beast.
Probably most disappointed in Horak. For an older guy he didn't stand out like he should have. Ferland is another guy that just didn't do enough for me. Really would love to see him become that power forward.
