Sorry if any of the notes are brief or don't make grammatical sense. I'm working off and iPad and trying to keep up.
Edit: spelling

I knew what it meant, don't worry. It speaks to his edgework combined with his agility and balance. It can be the difference maker in a player's success in game situations sometimes.

For those of you planning on attending tomorrow's scrimmage, please note seating is limited in Arena B & we encourage you to arrive early.
|
Is this the same arena that practices have been held at? Approx. how many seats are there?

Couldn't agree more with Calgary4Life. This team is being built with the highest possible character at each position. That should make up a team that will be incredibly difficult to beat since parity across the league skill-wise is at an all-time high.
IMHO, this is why the Flames were out of the playoffs for years. The only character guys I could think of on this team were Iginla, Giordano, and Sarich. Everyone else was a passenger or detractor. Not saying they were bad people, they just didn't have that quality that makes them a winner.
This team is being built for success.

@SNRobKerr: #Flames Roman Horak has switched his # to 21. Was asked if he wanted a new # and he requested one his father wore when he played pro.

So what do you guys think of Horak? Can he be German Titov 2.0? Where does he fit in 2-5 years from now.

Guy is hard for me to figure an upside on. If I had to guess I would say he has 30-40 point upside.

@SNRobKerr: IMHO a couple of #'s to keep your eye on during Sat #Flames prospect camp scrimmage...
@SNRobKerr: #77 @Janko61 - #23 @Monahan20 - #57 @Epoirier27 - #52 morganklimchuk - #Flames 1st round picks from last 2 seasons.
@SNRobKerr: In the past 2 days #50 @PatSieloff - maybe the most physical practice player I have ever seen. He will be looking to set a physical tone.
@SNRobKerr: #53 @johngaudreau03 - talk to fans, media, coaches, trainers, the guy filling the vending machines, and they all talk about this kid.
@SNRobKerr: #94 @kennyagostino - Came over in the Iginla deal, won an NCAA title with #Yale, and has been noticeable in first 2 days.
@SNRobKerr: #73 @bigkeegs5 - The 18 year old was the biggest player in the draft. Raw, but as they say you can't teach size.

Crazy how big these camps have gotten. I remember in 2003 at SAIT and only a handful of people to watch Mike Commodore and JF Damposse.
Maybe that was why.

Will be interesting to see Reto Berra in game. In his interview on the Flames website he recognized how fast the puck rebounds to the front of the net off of the boards on missed shots. His reaction time will be key to watch in the scrimmages I think. Not worried about the angle differences much with him as he is a big body with good lateral movement. /giddy!
Hanowski looked much better on video than he did in his cup of coffee last year. Foot speed is better. Must be the eight pounds he's shed.

I have posted this before. But the following covers all Flames players that are Flames property. I keep track of all transactions and points throughout the season. Linked in my signature as well (along with the past two seasons).

Still think Agostino is a top 3 prospect... which says a lot about the Flames prospect depth. From watching his interview, you can tell from his demeanour and personality that he has the leadership qualities to be a captain for the Flames. Really excited about him.

I'm absolutely sold on Monahan, Gaudreau, Baertschi, Agostino, Knight, Sieloff, Wotherspoon and Jankowski. That's this team's core in 2-3 years.

There will be more added to the core in the next 1-2 years at least as well (judging by the roster as it stands today, at least another top 10 pick). Some of these guys might just get bumped off! Makes me think the Flames are going to start looking good in the years to come.

Caged Great mentioned this and I agree that besides dropping the weight Hanowski's stride looks a better too. It seems to show he's been working on his skating technique already this off-season.

Dude, that thing is effing awesome, great job. Just wondering how the "projection" and "notes" categories work. I'm sure is a ranking system similar to HF's 7.0C type ranking, just wondering how each category works exactly. Otherwise great job, very informative and useful scope of all players on the Flames and in the system. Big thumbs up.

Thanks. They are pretty simple. I have the NHL line projection or the division (i.e. AHL). The second column gives a range.

I really hope Ferland is able to make the NHL someday. If not for his shot/finishing ability then for the sake of just witnessing him fight in the bigs. He's one of the best junior fighters i've ever seen. If you haven't already, check out some vids of him knocking out any of the kids dumb enough to have challenged him. An absolute beast...

Anyone know if they will be doing the scrimmage tomorrow on Arena A? I'd like to come by to watch but if I have to go super early just to get a seat I'll stay home and watch the live stream.

No, they are in Arena B. Arena A is rented out to a minor hockey group.
