Reinhart is out doing drills by himself right now. Is there another rink?

Janko is an above average skater, with silky smooth hands and a nice shot release to boot. To me so far he looks more developed than Monahan.

Edit: keep in mind my limited veiwings, but that's my initial impression

Gaudreau's decision is pretty simple to make..

Finish Degree - Fail Safe incase going Pro doesn't work out (Probably pushed strong from his parents). Gets to play with his brother. Gets another shot at the Hobey Baker. Gets to keep having fun in college before things get serious for the rest of his hockey career.

However, if at the end of this summer Gaudreau finds himself on another level to all the other prospects.. He should definitely take his chance next year at going Pro. You can only spend so long developing and if you are NHL ready it's time to take that next big step.

Also extremely exciting to be intrigued in more than 3 prospects at a Development camp!

Was listening to Connie's interview this morning on the Fan. The guy is such a nice person to talk to. I really hope it works out well for him on the Flames management and he sticks around. I can't help but think his enthusiasm would rub off on the young guys.

You are going to stress out a lot of people in here with that kind of talk.

Jankowski thrilled to be heading to Hockey Canada summer development camp

Quote:
The smile on Mark Jankowski's face said it.
Heading off the ice after his first on-ice session at the 2013 Flames development camp, the centreman was asked about being added to Hockey Canada's National Junior Team summer development camp roster.
"It's such an honour," he grinned. "I got the news on Monday, when I got into Calgary I got the call. I was really excited and I'm super pumped to get that going. It's my first chance at a Hockey Canada camp so it's really exciting for me."
Quote:
"I just want to go in there and play my game. I want to prove that I'm one of the best players there and to make the team."
One aspect that will help him as he tries to land on the final WJC roster is his size. In addition to growing a couple of inches, now standing 6-foot-3 and a half, he has added on muscle. When he was drafted by the Flames last summer, he weighed in 171 lbs. but a season of off-ice workouts has filled out his once-lanky frame.
"I'm 185 lbs. now," he told CalgaryFlames.com. "They told me I'm 14 lbs. heavier than I was last summer ... I want to continue getting stronger. To play in this league, you have to be extremely strong."

I have no idea how any of these kids will turn out, but its really nice to hear words like "skill" and "offensive" about many of the Flames prospects now. For far too long it seemed the Flames were dead set against drafting that quality for some reason, way too many grinders. If several of them turn out to be good top 6 NHLers the team is way ahead of where its been for over a decade as far as up and coming talent is concerned.

It is great to hear all the comments and opinions on players. Love the split on Jankowski vs Monahan. If Jankowski is as close to Monahan as a lot are suggesting the Flames are laughing at center going forward! Monahan, Jankowski, Knight and Reinhart as your young centers? Great depth! Add in Bartschi and Gaudrea in the top six roles, and then Agostino, Hanowski, Poirier, Klimchuk and Horak and we are looking pretty good up front for a team that just committed to an actual rebuild.

Is Baert looking any bigger and stronger? I think that was one of his aims.
