So, any chance this shuts up all the speculation that he won't sign?

Would be nice if Ferland can step up and then eventually be patrolling on Gadreau's line so no one takes liberties at him.

It could just be the angle, but he looks noticeably bigger.

As soon as he signs on the dotted line, I will never bring it up again.

Can he sign a contract but defer it until 15/16 season? Or is there a NCAA rule against that?

I'm pretty sure Schultz buttered up Anaheim too. Not that I really think Gaudreau won't sign with us, I just don't think this fluff really means anything in the end either way.

NCAA doesn't allow that.

That's too bad. As many posters have mentioned, the NHL should really allow the teams who draft college players to have one more year of rights after the player graduates.
Edit: sorry to derail the thread. Thanks for all who is updating the progress of the players at camp.

It's more ludicrous in sports that make a ton of money from players they prevent themselves from having to pay

Throw in Arnold too to make Johnny happy.
Gaudreau-Arnold-Ferland
It is interesting that they put Gaudreau and Arnold in separate groups. Absolutely no relying upon their established chemistry.

Arnold and Gaudreau are not on the same line in BC. Occasionally Arnold would be put on the same power play unit as jonny, but they generally play on different lines. No chemistry lost here.
