We already had this in 2006 didn't we? If I recall though it was only on the PS2 version? edit: wikipedia backs me up, but I can't remember why it was only on the ps2 version.
Love the idea. Love having all the retro jerseys, dissapointed that it's current rosters by the looks of things. I assume it's an NHLPA issue, but dissapointing none-the-less.
Soooooo NHL 14 with blue ice, old school soundtrack and simplified control scheme? I'm sure some will like it, but it doesn't strike me as appealing. Old school games are great, but as Flash Walken points out the novelty is rarely sustained.

Sure, but I don't think the point of it is to be anything more than a novelty.
I think this is an awesome little bonus, even though I won't use it very often except as the odd novelty.
I get the cover vote idea. It's cool, it gets fans of the game excited and whatnot. But they should limit it a bit, and keep it relevant to today's current star players.
Nothing against Martin Broduer, and certainly he was a star in this league, and one of the best. But there's just something a little "stale" looking about having an aging goalie, who looks to be on his way out of the NHL in the very near future, as the cover star of the best NHL game on the market.
The retro thing is a silly idea. EA should focus on fixing the current issues that are wrong with the game, instead of pushing out a feature that will lose its novelty after a week.
