McKenzie: He's a big guy who likes to get into the slot area. He's got a big shot and he'll be a good goal scorer in the NHL. He's hard to move from the front of the net, but his skating needs work.

So obviously he has battled some injuries. Anyone have any word on his health going into camp? The other thing that concerns me is he was drafted at 200 lbs with a lanky frame that could support more bulk. Every site I can find lists him at only 205 now. Did he just never fill out or are the sites using an old weight?

I still think Nemisz can be an NHLer.

He impressed on that line with Sven during that injury plagued section of the 2011/2012 season. Don't think he will ever be a big goal scorer but he is one of those players that seems to do all the little things right to help out teammates.

Last year he battled injury and never seemed to be in proper game shape. Hopefully he comes into camp in great shape this year and can have a good season.

I would say it is his last chance based on Feaster's words

Nemisz, a restricted free agent, got a one-year (two-way) contract that is worth $725,000 at the NHL level.
A first-round pick in 2008, the right-winger has never produced — 10 points in 55 games last winter.

The Flames are going to give him every opportunity to show why he should be on the team. If he does not make it this year, he's probably won't get an NHL deal going forward.

I really hope he makes the team, some more size on the wings and someone who can stand in front of the net on the power play is definitely welcome.

Nemisz might not be a speed demon, but his hands are decent, hes big and hes crazy good on board battles.

Hopefully Nemisz still has a chance, but it seems less likely that he would be an impact goal scorer at this stage. I remember that I was really hoping we had a chance at Tedenby (drafted one spot earlier to NJ), so I guess that shows how much I know!

He isn't totally unproven. KHL success does count for something. It might not be on the same level as NHL success, but it isn't worthless either.

You can't judge filling out on weight alone. With added traning from being a professional, most guys are going to become leaner. Theoretically, he could have 15-20 lbs more muscle on him, which is huge gains.

They had to pay him something decent in order to pull him away from KHL dollars. And since he is considered one of, if not the best goaltender in that league, that could be a lot of dollars. I would imagine Ramo left about 2-2.5 mil on the table to come to the NHL.

Last I checked besides his last injury season he was ~0.5PPG in the previous 2 AHL seasons as a rookie on a crappy AHL team with no offense.
