“I’d write ["Get Lucky"] in a ####ing hour,” said a 40-year-old man named Liam Gallagher, singer in the bands Oasis and Beady Eye and noted megalomaniac. “I don’t know what the fuss is about, you know what I mean? It’s like #### off, give me a ####ing break.”
Gallagher continued with a thought on what he’s not going to have people do: “I am not going to have people wear disguises. Take your ####ing helmet off. Let’s see what you look like sans helmet, whatever you’re called.”
It's nice to see that Liam is going to merge seamlessly from petulant child to crotchety old man without the nuisance of being a mature adult in between.

The guy wrote exactly one Oasis song. Glad he still continues to be a joke.
Whoops....should have kept my head up in this thread
Anyways.......Boards of Canada "Tomorrows Harvest" just came out and is likely the best thing I have heard all year. Took nearly half the year to get to some of the goooooood stuff!

I'm listening now, and I have to say for the first time ever, I'm disappointed in Kanye's music. Production by his nature is top notch and that hasn't changed with the amount of detail and layering on this album. However, the beats simply aren't as catchy as every other album he's come out with. His rapping has gotten better, but his beats on this album are just not catchy enough.

And though Isbell has seemingly found peace in his personal life, he’s still working through the darkness in his songs. Minus the 400 Unit, and peppered with subtle nods towards old masters like Townes, Prine, and Willie, Southeastern’s dozen tracks are for the most part, narrated from a damaged perspective. The songs’ protagonists have live hard and flirt with disaster yet push towards achieving a redemption of sorts. Despite their attempted strides, they remain conscious of the missteps that still may lie ahead.
Also, early leader for most depressing song of the year in "Elephant."
QOTSA’s excellent new album …Like Clockwork came out a little more than a month ago, and everyone was so eager to welcome their new rock overlords that the album went straight to No. 1, a first for the California rockers. Now their label, Matador, is releasing the album on an eight-gigabyte USB flash drive for the low low price of just $29.99. The flash drive comes with the album, high-resolution photos, original artwork, music videos, and lyric sheets. It also doubles as a bottle opener. As a limited-time-only offer, fans who order the drive now will get a second drive free with extra shipping and handling. Order here.
So who did they get to sell this little gadget? Fred Armisen, of course. He plays pitchman extraordinaire Ricky Chism who is determined to get you (yes, YOU!) to ACT NOW!! and Do Stuff Corporation will send you an additional USB FREE!!
Not sure if its been posted in here, but September 9th is the supposed release date for the new Arcade Fire album.
Was just thinking about this the other day as my ipod was on random. A couple bands that everyone knows about that I think can put out good albums this year are Arcade Fire and Kings of Leon who also have a September release. http://metro.co.uk/2013/06/08/kings-...-bull-3833369/
Critical releases for both bands but I am blindly going to look forward to and purchase both regardless of critic reception. Still love 90% of the early material of both bands so they get a the early stuff was so good.....how bad can the new stuff be pass. Besides James Murphy says the new Arcade Fire album is "really great" not a critic but a producer but you can bet that the critics will want to hate both of these releases.
