Default Wanted- 5.25" Floppy Drive

Just wondering if anybody has one of these kicking around? I have several 3.5" floppy drives, but 1989 called and needs me to access some data.

For you kids who are too young to remember this media format; this is what the disk looked like:

Do you have a floppy controller from 1989 that would work? I have a 5.25" drive I could lend you (sentimentally I want to keep it) but not the controller boards.

I checked http://www.vfxweb.com/ for some 5.25" as they usually are the place to go for old stuff but they only have 3.5" drives.

I seem to recall the 1990's versions plugged in using the same cables as a 3.5" floppy. If it needs a seperate controller card then I won't bother; I would just tell my user that he needs to go to a data recovery place.

Thanks though!

I think I have an external you can just have (connects via USB) stuffed away somewhere. I will check tomorrow when I'm doing my chores and let you know.

I still have my old 3.5 kicking around somewhere in case i needed it...
I would never have thought someone would keep a 5.25.

I have 6 of these sitting in my storage room. Don't judge me, man.

PM me and you can have one for free. I'm sure I have the cable for it too.

Do you have any old newspapers from the 80s you could part with as well?
