A lot of plays seemed to die on Millers stick in the WJC. Frustrated a lot of us watching when he would hold on to the puck instead of passing it.
I'm 50/50 with Boyle.

Would love Bolland. He would help bring an identity to this team.

Exactly.
A complete puck hog. He simply doesn't have enough talent for his game to translate well into the NHL.
Do not want.
If the Flames were looking at NY, I would much, much rather have Kreider - big RW with speed.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg 18s Feaster also said they've received little interest in Mike Cammalleri. #Flames
Renaud Lavoie @RenLavoieRDS now
Flames GM, Jay Feaster, said that nobody called for Michael Cammalleri. #RDS

If we deal Cammalleri, a lot of people around here are going to be bitterly disappointed at the return. He's vastly overrated on this board. The guy is 31, and hasn't cracked 50 points since he was 27. At this stage, it's unlikely he will again.
There's simply not much of a market for one-dimensional 40-50 point forwards in their 30s.

We should definitely hang on to Cammalleri until the trade deadline if the return sucks right now. Just because he asked to be traded doesn't mean the Flames have to trade him right away.

You can bet that Cammy at half price would get interest.
I'm not sure why this team is afraid of using all methods available to them to speed up this rebuild.

Half price cammelleri isn't worth much more than full price. He has one facet to his game and it is not that good.

$3M for a 50 point player is pretty good (he was on a 60 point pace this season).

If we're going by what Feaster said, it sounds like no team asked about cammalleri at all.
There may be the perception or the confirmation that calgary isn't interested in retaining salary on any player, but if there is a glimmer of truth in what Feaster said, teams just don't want Cammalleri, half price or full.
Known quantity around the NHL, extremely under sized snper without defense or jam, with the potential to be a locker room distraction.
The thing he does well he doesn't do well enough to make up for the things he doesn't do.
At this point I don't think he's a top 6 winger on a contending team and he's not a bottom 6 winger on any team.

If no one is calling about him and be wants out he needs to recognize it is his responsibility to play well and show he can still play in the first part of the season. If he becomes a tangy at and sulks that he is still here then he won't be able to go anywhere but if he makes the best of the situation he should be marketable. He is going to be one of the top forwards on the team if he brings it and he will have every opportunity to succeed, it's all in his hands to market himself

After the frenzy, I was hoping that Cammy's value may have increased but looking across the league, teams will be looking to dump salary instead of taking it on.
Was really hoping that something could have been done with Ottawa but Bobby Ryan really killed any chance of that happening. Only thing I could see is Cammy for Michalek + (depends on what the plus is). Yeah, Michalek is injury prone but we could still dump him at the deadline.
Only other thing I could see happening is Cammy for Heatley and maybe you get Minny to give a little bit more considering the cap differential ($1.5M).
Rog mentioned that NYR was a front runner but they are going to be pressed to get their RFAs under contract with the space they have left.
Just don't want him on the team come Sept. If he doesn't want to be here that will rub off on the young guys and that's the last thing you need in a rebuild.

I would not worry about him being a bad influence. Cammi is playing for his next contract, he will be fine. I do agreee that it looks like he will be on the flames come September. The 4 teams (Toronto, Ottawa, Detroit and Boston) that i thought would have interest all signed guys yesterday.

One last contender - Edmonton for Hemsky, maybe something more. Only $1M difference in cap and Hemsky might be easier to move as he is cheaper.
Bit of a reach I know but Edm could use help on the LW side. If they can offer an incentive (pick/prospect) I hope Feaster considers it, provided Cammy would go.

No interest in giving the Coilers more offensive help than they're already gonna get.
Will get just as good of a return at trade deadline next season, regardless of whether the contract is 5 or 6 mil.

Hang on to him until other teams run into injury problems. At the worse we should be able to get a fair return at trade deadline. I don't see any problem in hanging on to him for a while. I think Cammallari has pretty good character and will play hard no matter what the situation.

After moving Bobby Ryan for futures and the possible retirement of Selanne I wonder if the Ducks might be interested in Cammalleri.

I doubt it, they are already quite deep on the wing, even if Selanne retires. Silfverberg is a top 6 forward for them immediately, Palmieri has earned a full-time spot in the top 6, they have Etem coming through the ranks and Noesen is turning pro this summer and apparently blew everyone away at the start of their prospect camp yesterday. Plus they have that Perry guy, of course. I guess the Ducks would have bigger needs than Cammalleri - they really need a solid #2 center and a top-4 defenseman IMO. Also, they only have 7m in cap space right now and IIRC they operate with a strict internal cap ... so I can't see Cammalleri as a good fit in Anaheim at all.

Vulcan said it best.
Just to expand on that; teams will be looking for that extra push to get over the hump of being true contenders. Holding onto Cammie until the trade deadline will fetch a better return for him. Like Vulcan said, team injuries are inevitable, especially after a half season grind. Right now, you may only fetch a 3rd round pick. By TD day, you could possibly squeeze a 1st rounder out of a team who's fairly loaded to win this season, but missing one key player.
