Default Game 2 : STAMPEDERS at Riders

GAME DAY : Friday, June 5th at 7pm Mosaic Stadium
Televised on TSN

Stamps and Riders both won their first game last week.

Stamps played well on all facets of the game. Offense led by RB Jon Cornish just bulldozed the Lions defense rushing for 172 yards, caught 20 yards and ran for 2 TDs. QB Drew Tate had a decent game good enough to beat the Lions. He still need to be more consistent but that will come along. I am sure he will be so pumped playing against the archrival Riders. The Dynamic Duo Mo and Joe was excellent last week. Mo caught one TD while Joe had two excellent TDs. The OLine played well giving both Cornish and Tate lots of time and spaces all game. Rookie Centre Brett Jones will start again with the help of Dmitri Tsoumpas, Dan Federkeil, Jon Gott and Stanley Bryant.

On defense, the line dominated the game last week led by Sack Master Charleston Hughes with 3 QB sacks. His partner on the opposite side Shawn Lemon was also a handful chasing after Travis Lulay all night. No sack for him but a lot of pressures. Unfortunately we won't be having our interior lineman Corey Mace, gone for the season with shoulder injury. I heard rookie Non-import DL Ben Aguilar will be on the lineup tonight. Love to see how this guy play. I heard he dominated the line in college. Our secondary was a bit of a suspect early in the 2nd half but finish off just okay. Stamps will be missing Keon Raymond again tonight due to ankle injury.

Special Team player Larry Taylor was consistent all night last week. The one that impressed the most Jeff Hecht. He was all over Tim Brown and stopped him from gaining some yardages on return. I think the whole cover team played well. El Matador and Maver was consistent all game with their kicking.

For the Riders, it looks like Geroy Simon will miss the game again due to injury. Head coach Corey Chamblain are encouraging the Rider fans to be loud to distract the Stamps offense. The one thing the Stamps to do to silence them is to score early in the game.

GO STAMPS GO!!!!

Geroy Simon may be the bigger name but he is far from the greatest loss Saskatchewan doesn't have playing tonight. Terrell Maze is their best DB and he is a no go with his arm in a sling.

Whoever covering Dressler better tighten up his defense. This guy is getting opening so much.

There will be at least 5 PI calls against the Stamps this game.

Calgary needs another TD to quiet down these unwashed heathens.

First one would have been PI if it was the Riders. Guaranteed.

That's a dumb penalty by Tsoumpas. Luckily Tate and Geronimo bailed him out.
