I don't really get the Russell trade but he didn't blow his allowance and the young players should have a chance to make the team and contribute. This is good.

Too bad he isn't working on getting Brunner right now- Holland is saying that he will be moving on. Would be nice to see him play with Sven.

Flames have made offers to TJ Brodie and Mikael Backlund. Waiting for Brodie to respond. Second offer to Backlund. ARB still a possibility.

Didnt think it was going to be a back and forth with Backlund. Not worried or anything but I think Backlund wants term and the Flames arent that comfortable going long term?

Brodie deserves a three or four year deal IMO.

I'd be fine giving Backlund a long term contract. As long as it is a cheap long term contract. Give him 8 years at $2M. woooo.
