I didn't say anywhere that we needed to sign any body. Maybe it's just me, but I'm tired of Feaster calling press conferences just to talk about woulda-coulda. I prefer the Sutter approach much more.
I thought in the new NHL it was mandatory to hold this press conference? I am sure Feaster rather not do it considering he has not much to say.

When has Feaster ever called a press conference to talk about woulda-coulda?
We signed guys today, and made trade. He's got things to discuss and maybe I'm alone, but I look forward to it.

has there been an update as to why they didn't just pick him up off waivers, and not have to give anything up (5th rounder)?
Hopefully he addresses this.
Thought it was somewhere, maybe not. Story likely is that they had their eye on a similar player up until the last day or so, who has since gone somewhere else or turned down the Flames offer, and the Flames had to go back to plan "R", and forced to pay for it.

To be honest, due to the the massive amounts of over-payments, both in terms of AAV and term, I'm glad Feaster practically stood pat. We don't need someone like Filpulla or Horton making 5+ million for the next 5+ years in the team's current state. There's still a lot of time for deals to be made for our large collection of wingers, this isn't something that should be rushed on UFA day 1.

maybe he'll say what I'm thinking,,,,"some of the contracts handed out today are stupid money for nominal players, in a year when the cap is going down, so we didn't waste any money. Your welcome"

Grabovski still on the Market after all the key centers available are now gone tells me he isn't getting the term or dollars he wants. I sense him coming to Calgary on a favorable deal.

Problem is Grabo is getting married today- probably has his phone off.
