Wife took the truck home in the aft for a meeting this morning... The unpleasantness has past. Hopefully this Iggy to Vancouver BS will too.

I thought he would have signed pretty quick. Surprised he didn't sign yet.

If the thread list of where Iggy wants to go is true, then it will take some time unless Iggy wants $3 million or less. Not one of those teams can afford him right now and will have to make sure they can make a trade that is worth bringing Iggy on.

I think it'll be a few days before Iggy goes anywhere

Iggy will sign for cheap where he wants to. My guess is 3.5 on a contender

I think he's pretty picky about where he goes and the best money offers are probably from teams that aren't preferred desitinations and offers from preferred destinations are for less money. I imagine he would like to take some time to access the contract offers vs the team.

It's been 20 minutes since he could actually officially have signed, so a bit premature.

That said, if its down to just a couple teams (I think it is), a decision for him and his family, and the teams involved know to budget for him and know the offers that they have out there to him...and then its up to Jarome, the teams involved won't have to worry about some random team swooping in and offering him a tonne of money because its not about that at this point, its all about location for him and his family.

I can't see much value in an 82 game schedule except for being a powerplay specialist. Iggy will still score goals, but he's lost speed and power to play a power game.
Very different upside for Iggy compared to a few years ago.

That said, I think the best fit is LA.

I almost barf saying it but that would be a great signing for them to mentor the kids and despite how much we hate them they are trending up.

I think Iginla's ranking has dropped farther than deserved. Everybody sees that he's no longer a difference maker and a power forward but he can still put up some points. I bet he doesn't get as much as freaking Ryane Clowe's $4.85M per.

I don't understand this post... What do the Flames have to do with the guy's opinion that the Sens should sign Iginla to make up for losing Alfredson?

But putting that aside, the Flames got a 1st round pick and two prospects for Iginla, while the Sens got absolutely nothing for Alfie.

I think wherever he signs, Iggy will have a solid campaign next season. Obviously won't be in the running for the art ross anymore but I can see him having a "bounce back" type season in the right environment. If he doesn't sign for very much that team is in for a bargain.
