I can't wait to see how this goes.
I wanted us to trade for Ramo's rights long before Feaster actually did it. I hope he turns out.

He could make more in Russia. You have to judge a contract within the context of demand for a player, not just his perceived abilities.

Ramo gets that contract? Yikes. That has blow up in your face written all over it.

Because he could have been paid triple that in the KHL. Can't pay league minimum for a goalie with his track record in Russia.

Does it honestly matter what we pay these guys this season? Jones' contract hurts the Flames because it's over four seasons, but who cares what we pays guys for shorter term deals.

Lots of money for Ramo was to be expected when he's been a top goalie in the KHL and probably could have signed for even more over there. We have the salary room so I don't see any issue.

Last I checked it was a 2.75, not a 5.75

Too much for Ramo, but if there are two years to go on a cocaine fueled spending spree, it's probably the next two.

Happy day. I'll be really excited to see how Knight and Ramo do and hopeful that Nemisz can still pull it together.

Why are people so concerned about the money? It's not like the flames are going to be at the ceiling or signing huge contracts. They have to get to the floor somehow.

He wasn't making chump change in the KHL... have to offer him a decent contract or why would he bother coming over? It's fine. I was actually expecting it to be a bit higher.

$2.75 million hasn't been a lot of money in the NHL since 2007. This is a fair deal to get a guy to cross the ocean.

Ramo's contract is a sideffect of him having options, and the Flames having cap room.
Not too worried about it, when he's up for renewal we'll know if he's worth it or not, and will know more on the rest of the guys we need to sign too... will likely have plenty of cap room then as well.

Based on what?
Other goalies in the KHL had better numbers, other guys in other leagues played well also.
What is the basis other than garbage statements possibly from Feaster to make him the best goalie not in the NHL?

Okay, these were cool and expected.
Now get on with signing Grabo/Filpulla and trading for Couturier!

2.75 is a lot for Ramo and might look quite bad if he flops this season, but a 2 year deal won't kill us. It will be an interesting season in net. I hope for the best but I have a hard time seeing this group of goalies performing well behind a rebuilding team.
