Wow, that's a long time for a guy with his concussion history. Good for him, if he can stay healthy he'll be good for Columbus. I'll miss seeing him in Black and Gold for sure.

So I guess when Horton said he was looking for a fresh start, he meant a boatload of money.

Thank god he is signed and not coming here. Would have been a terrible signing anytime for the Flames but especially bad for them with where they are now.

I thought it might be a good fit for Columbus but that is a lot of money and too long term for a guy with his health questions and not great offensive numbers.

Wow, good for Horton, but scary for the Jackets considering his injury history.

But a nice move for a franchise that's hopefully on the upswing.

Horton
Gaborik
Johnson
Dubinsky
Anisomov
Bobrovsky
Calvert

Jackets have a nice lineup and a fairly deep defense. Toss in the Vezina winner and Ryan Murray coming through the pipeline. Good time to be a jackets fan.

Columbus will regret this deal. Like next season.

Too much, too long. I like him, but he's brittle.

Crazy.

I really don't think $5.3 mil is a big number for Horton. Seven years is risky though.

Lets face it, Columbus has to overpay and give longer terms in order to attract free agents.

With that in mind I don't think it's that bad of a signing.

Nathan Horton will undergo shoulder surgery this summer. Expected to be sidelined until December.

5.3 is very fair for dollars. Term is a little scary given his health but the value is there.

I think the money is fine for Horton, but 7 years is at least 2 years too long.

Still, for UFA day, it's pretty respectable and he should add a lot to the Jackets when healthy. I'm happy for BJ fans today who have had it rough for so long and look to finally have the makings of a team that can compete for the playoffs.

Horton's agent must be Jerry MacGuire. How does an injured player get a contract like this?

Now that I see he's having more shoulder trouble, the term on this contract is bad.

Shoulder aside, it's bad term because his brain is half jello.

Sad to see him leave the Bruins, glad he he has a cup ring vs VAN though. He will regret leaving Boston career wise i don't think CLB is going to help him get another Cup Ring.
Fair money for CLB but length of contract is 2 years too long. Eventual buyout i suspect.
