Merry Christmas Oilers!!
Really shocked that Edmonton didn't have to give up anything of value here. I guess Dallas thinks he can contribute in some way. Would be nice if he got his game going again, but doubtful. Not a bad player, just a horrible contract.

Pathetic... Didn't you see how traumatized us Flames fans were when we traded our long time captain? You should feel the same amount of sadness.

Guess Paajarvi goes with him for something ile a 5th rounder.
Gets them a vet leader on a terrible contract but you get a young piece back in return.

WTF? You were doing so well Jim.
I guess this could work for them depending on the other pieces and involved. Also I assume Edmonton would retain a fair bit of salary.
One things for sure, this ain't yo daddy's Dallas Stars!

Going to be interesting to see if Hall has what it takes to be a captain.

What are the Oilers up to though? Waived Belanger, and now got rid of Horcoff's contract. Wonder if they are going hard after Bryzgalov, Clarkson, and probably a defender or two.

My guess is Hartikainen is involved and Nill thinks he can convince him to come back to NA.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 8s Sounds like DAL and EDM still putting finishing touches on Horcoff deal and as @DarrenDreger reports, several pieces involved.

Wow, I would have to imagine the price was a 2nd rounder that Edmonton sent along to Dallas. Thats 2 more years at 5.5m

I think that this will be a good trade for the Stars, Horcoff - while having a very high cap hit for the player that he is, is still a good player and for a team with caproom but a lower payroll budget he is the perfect 3rd line player. The Oilers were a significantly better team with Horcoff in the lineup, the problem was that he was often injured and those injures eventually caught up to him.
He offers good leadership to a young team such as Dallas and could prove to be a good mentor to Seguin.

Several pieces? Wow, Nill is wasting no time putting his stamp on this team. Dunno about this Horcoff move yet but I like what they're doing down there. Big culture change all the way to the new green uniforms (which by the way I love!).

Are you guessing or is this real? I'm guessing it's just a wild guess, but you might want to clarify it in your post.

I assume this requires green text or is just speculation? MacT would have to be fired on the spot.
