Nobody at the NHL level is a 'bad coach'.

But sometimes they do **** up.

And Carlyle has made a lot of questionable decisions since taking over in T-dot.

Agreed. Hence why I personally would like to see what he could do here. If Hartley cannot utilize him then it's a player Issue. But him being a good player on a bad team like T.O has been for so long gives me pause on passing on him.

A taste of Grabovski on Carlyle: "Don’t put me on a [expletive] third line and then [expletive] play [me] six minutes in a game."

@jonasTSN1050: Grabovski had some pretty blistering remarks toward Leafs coach Randy Carlyle. Called him a "stupid coach" among other things.

Matt Stajan was productive in Toronto. I would hope the Flames organization has learned their lesson in regards to Leafs players and their inflated worth due to being part of the center of the universe. Just say no to Bozak and Grabovsky.

@jonasTSN1050: Just got off the phone with Grabovski: "Of course I feel [expletive] sad, I played [expletive] five years here."

I think there are a bunch of you are out to lunch on Grabovski because he was a Leaf and also because of his background. He's actually a guy who plays hard, but like a lot of Euros, when the coach rides him or makes an example, he sulks. Certainly that sucks when any player does that, but he's a guy who has skill and a knack of getting the puck and he skates hard (though not physical). In today's market, at $4M per season for 3 years, the guy would be a good deal. As for Bozak, he'd be another good player at the same deal. Bozak sets up other players really well and of course also is great at faceoffs. Don't let the Leafs hate get in the way of a good deal, especially on a not so good team these upcoming seasons.

"Of course I feel [expletive] sad," he continued in a lengthy conversation, minutes later, "I played [expletive] five years here. I'm supposed to feel upset about that. I loved it [here]. Toronto fans are one of the best fans in the world."
Quote:
"I play in the [expletive] Russian KHL, I make lots of [expletive] points and what's going to happen? He make me [expletive] play on the fourth line and he put me in the playoffs on the fourth line and third line again," Grabovski spewed. "Yeah, I don't score goals. I need to work more about that. I know that. But if you feel support from your coach [you'll find success]. I don't feel any support from this [expletive] idiot."
Quote:
"Wilson [expletive] pushed me same hard as this," Grabovski said, months of frustration finally bubbling to the surface, "but don't be an [expletive] with me. If you don't like something tell [expletive] right away, don't put me on the bench, healthy scratch [me] or something. Don't put me on a [expletive] third line and then [expletive] play me six minutes in a game."
Quote:
"I need to work harder," he concluded, taking time to thank his teammates, equipment managers and fans, "I need to be smarter, I need to play harder, need to play better and score a lot of goals and do what I do the best."

Grabovski is definitely a good stop gap player for a team looking for offense. He's pretty much been a consistent 50 point player. But ya he needs top 6 minutes and not 4th line minutes.

No problem with that attitude or expressing it the way he has.

But I expect an apology, if only to stop any media member with a twitter feed, from calling him, looking for another juicy quote to be able to tweet out.
The eastern talking heads and "experts" will regurgitate this for days, weeks and months regardless, turning this into a big story. Interviewing Carlyle, Nonis and anyone remotely associated with the Leafs.

Yep, haven't hurt a peep out of the other guys who've been bought out (Briere, Lecavalier, Komisarik, etc). So it's sort of good to see someone be unhappy and legitimately pissed off that he was bad enough to be bought out. Even if it's not the best way to go out at least it shows he cares about the game, and wants to become better than he already is.

Soo.. Does the "don't touch leaf centers" rule apply if the guy completely denounces the team/staff?

This is the kind of passion I'd like to see from players. Not in this fashion, but when it comes to losing or not playing well, having that fire is better than not having it.

I always see this guy get obliterated on the ice by a huge hit and come back to play the same game.
