meh, i think the dallas offer is better than what hte flames could have offered.
I also hope seguin rips it up in dallas, seems premature that they are letting him go. This isn't a bailey/brassard, he's shown he can really contribute in the league, just needs to mature.

A 21 year old 1st line centre is not something you give up on this early.

It's clear that Boston doesn't think Seguin is a 1C material. Whether they are right or not, we'll see in a couple years.

Just an opinion but I'm thankful the Flames didn't to be honest. I would really like to develope our own prospects.

Yeah it's pretty close if you're a homer.

Jeebsuz people. Cammalleri and Glencross aren't in the same hemisphere as Erickson.

Not to mention, even if the Flames could offer a better package than the Stars, the centrepiece is what Boston is interested in with their window being now. Boston did a solid job with this trade I think.

How do you come to that conclusion? He lead their team in scoring in the last full season, and had a decent year this year and he's only 21. I think it has more to do with them giving Bergeron a big contract and already having Krejci at an affordable rate. Simply put, there was no place for Seguin in the middle for the hockey that PC and CJ wanted to play.

There is no way the Flames could've matched without it being a bad thing long term. Loui Eriksson is a really good player, something that we do not really have on this team right now.

I think People offsetted that by including Gadreau which is higher rated than Morrow and the other 2

I would have loved to see Seguin in a flames jersey. Having the first and second overall picks in 1 draft year going head to head in the battle of Alberta would be pretty sweet. Dallas gave up a pretty amazing player in Erickson though to get him, we don have anyone near that valuable unless you include picks.
On a side note I think Dallas did well getting Peverly. I think he is an underrated commodity.

Calgary could offer a similar package. Cammi at half price or GlenX are equal to or greater than Louie.

A hybrid of Cammalleri's shot with Glencross' two way play would be close to Loui Eriksson. This guy is one of the most underrated guys in the league, which will change now he is off to a more prominent market

Solid trade for both teams IMO. Erikksson fits that Boston style, winger version of Bergeron.

Dallas gave up a really good # 2 line winger, there second best d prospect, and a couple 3rd/4th line fillers, and took on peverly's contract. Not to mention Peverly is still an effective 3rd line center.
That is not much, Dallas won this trade without a question. Erikkson wasn't even that good last year no longer having ribeiro, or Richards feeding him tap ins on the pp.
Boston is going to lose this trade and in the end be comparable to the Joe Thornton trade for Stuart, sturm, and Thornton.
At least that is how I see it.
