Interesting to see what the other "parts" going back are.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 16s Trade is bigger than Seguin for Eriksson. Draft picks to Boston? Prospects? Working on details.

My guess is Erikkson + Oleksiak + 2nd for Seguin + Peverley

I will wait to pass judgement until a) the trade is actually confirmed and b) what the "+" constitutes. I would think high or recent draft picks would be included.

Give a first round pick to get Jagr, get a first round pick for Seguin?

Dallas would have a 1-2 punch at center of Benn and Seguin.

Craig Custance ‏@CraigCustance now Believe Peverley may be in that Dallas/Boston deal as well.

I hate Dallas.

They get all the big fish, then end up wasting them by falling short in the regular season. I think partly cause they've never put in the work to create an established team identity. So it becomes a giant jigsaw puzzle of free agents / new faces each year that just don't know how to play together.

Yeah, but that pick was conditional on the Bruins making the final 4...so there was some risk limiting there.

Really Eriksson would really seem to fit what Boston needs, RW who can score 30 goals 70 points and play well in all zones, and can do it now for the next 2-3 years.

It does seem to be a good move for both teams. Let's face it even if the Flames added Seguin to their current roster for nothing...the team is not in the playoffs next year barring some serious luck. Eriksson at this point in his career on ice is more valuable than Iginla or at least equal. So unless the Flames wanted to part with numerous assets he was not a player the Flames could land.

Outside of getting Seguin, what big fish? A 41 year old Jagr? 40 year old Whitney? Those aren't exactly big fish.

Richards was the last premier center traded in his prime and Dallas picked him up too.

Lots of people were proposing Glencross which is close. Not as good a player as Eriksson but also $2million dollars cheaper.

Glencross+Gaudreau+ Backlund was probably as close as the Flames could get, and even that is dependant on Glencross waiving his NTC.
