I love Loui. What a good player. Seems like a good base for a fair trade, depending on the other parts included.

We get to keep Johnny Hockey, who will dance circles around Seguin in a couple years. Probably the entire Stars team, too.

OT, but I remember a few analysts saying that Baertschi projects to be be a Loui Ericsson type of player after we drafted him.
Having said that, would you trade Baertschi + for Sequin? I am not sure I would, although that could just be the homer in me.

I believe in the Jays.

That had better be a significant "+"... I like Eriksson but not so much that I wouldn't want significant other stuff coming back.

Could see Oleksiak going back the other way. Chara can mentor him.

Would have to think one of Faksa or Ritchie going back to Boston.

As a Bruins fan i would be happy to land Eriksson, sad to see Seguin go i like the kids game. Some say he has a bad attitude whatever he is competitive and only turned 21 this year. Seguin certainly hasn't hurt the Bruins look at his points and + 53 in 3 seasons.
This deal only makes sense depending on what draft picks are involved.

Good trade for both teams, Eriksson is very underrated as many have said.
I wonder if the rumors of Seguin to Calgary had any truth to them? Eriksson alone is pretty much a better return than anything Calgary was offering (except for the sixth pick maybe).

Eriksson + Dillon + Pick + Prospect?
for
Seguin + Boychuk/Seidenberg
Gives the Bruins a solid defender for a cheap cap hit, plus a very well rounded consistent forward who is a steal at 4.25m. And much needed cap relief. Gives the stars a good defender and a potential franchise player.

Happy we're out of this, could have been an over-payment to the point of being detrimental to the franchise. Maybe if we were two years further along in our rebuild it would have been the right move. Sounds like a beneficial trade for both teams IMO.

Stars are lucky to have Nill as their GM. AFter being Holland's right hand man for many years, you can bet that Nill's connections around the league are going to result in the Stars getting what they want, when they want.

Yup.
Eriksson is just entering his prime. He's like a younger Glencross who can put up 20+ more points a season. The Flames do not have a single asset of that calibre.
They're are few players like Eriksson in the NHL. ERiksson is a bit out of sync with the Dallas rebuild, in that he's a few years too old. The move to bring in Seguin really does work great for both sides.
Gives the Bruins a top 6 that includes:
Eriksson, Krejci, Lucic, Bergeron, and Marchand. That is a very difficult group to play against.
