There might be by the time they finish building this. There's at least one proposal to put one in the East Village.

As opposed to attracting talent with these downtown choices?
A) Sitting in heavy traffic and paying ridiculous downtown parking rates
or
B) Riding a packed train if it happens to go to your area of the city
Some of us see moving businesses out of downtown as a smart choice. Not all of us want to deal with downtown Calgary on a daily basis.

Right.. I know they are proposing one for the EV, but as of now I don't think there is one. Will probably change by 2017 though, I agree

Since there's no mention of height in their presentation, I'm guessing this is going to be lower than the bow. Still a nice building though.

Sorry, but this just comes across as the dated "I should be able to drive my car to work" Calgarian argument that has stalled proper development in this city for decades.
We are finally in a renaissance period of smart economic growth and development and IOL goes ahead and totally bucks the trend.
I'm sure plenty of people will be happy to park in their big Costco-sized parking lot. For me however, I think they made a huge mistake.
But enough of this.. back to Telus Sky!

They talked about having a dedicated elevator just for the skygarden, so it definitely could be made accessible to the public.

TELUS Sky is expected to be the second tallest building in Calgary, approximately 20 metres shorter than The Bow building.

So third tallest by the time it's finished (wasn't there a rumor that there was going to be something even taller than Hearld Square too? Or am I getting confused with the rumors about this building?)

There have been rumours of the "taller than Brookfield Place" building, nothing concrete yet.
So ~216m for height, very nice.

I think you over estimate how much people care about working downtown.

I don't. Talk to anyone that has tried both. Most are very happy to get back downtown, especially since it's a 1 in 4 chance your suburban office park hell is further from your house than downtown is.
